... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM CST this
evening...

* short term trends... light snow continues northeast of a
Estherville to Ottumwa line early this morning. Snowfall rates
will generally be around one half inch an hour. Though snowfall
rates will lessen over the east in the next few hours...
increasing southeast winds will also begin to blow the snow
across Road surface. An increase in areal snow coverage is
expected toward sunrise in western to central Iowa. The new area
of snow will spread across much of central Iowa Sunday morning.

* Storm total snow accumulations... snow amounts are forecast to
range from 2 to 5 inches with locally higher amounts.

* Winds/visibility... southeast at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 25 mph
through noon Sunday. Visibilities as low as one half mile at
times is expected due to blowing snow and falling snow.

* Impacts... hazardous travel conditions are expected due to the
combination of snow and wind which will produce slick... snow
covered roads and limited visibilities.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow
covered roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.
