Winter Weather Advisory
Issued: 3:36 AM CST Feb. 8, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory in effect until 3 PM CST this
afternoon...
... Blizzard Warning is cancelled...

The National Weather Service in Des Moines has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow... which is in effect
until 3 PM CST this afternoon. The Blizzard Warning has been
cancelled.

* Short term trends... snow showers will continue across the area
with strong gusty northwest winds. The combination of strong
wind and falling snow will continue to produce blowing and
drifting snow reducing visibilities.

* Winds/visibility... northwest winds 25 to 30 mph with gusts to 45
mph. Visibility will be reduced to around one half mile at
times... especially in rural open areas.

* Impacts... travel may be difficult today due to icy snow-covered
roads and lowered visibilities.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow means that
periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be
prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities... and use
caution while driving especially in open areas.
