... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM CST
Sunday...

* short term trends... a band of snow will continue to intensify
and expand northward through late evening into the early morning
hours. The snow will generally be north of a SAC City to Des
Moines to Ottumwa. Visibilities in the most intense snow will be
one quarter of a mile

* storm total snow accumulations... snow amounts are forecast to
range from 2 to 5 inches with locally higher amounts. Highest
amounts will be in the northeast near Mason City and Waterloo.

* Winds/visibility... southeast at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30
mph. Visibilities as low as one quarter mile at times is
expected due to blowing snow and falling snow.

* Impacts... hazardous travel conditions are expected due to the
combination of snow and wind which will produce slick... snow
covered roads and limited visibilities.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow
covered roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.
