Areal Flood Advisory
Statement as of 11:31 PM EDT on September 02, 2015

The National Weather Service in Marquette has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
Menominee County in south central Upper Michigan...
southwestern Delta County in south central Upper Michigan...

* until 230 am EDT/130 am CDT/

* at 1124 PM EDT /1024 PM CDT/... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain
due to thunderstorms over much of Menominee County moving into
western Delta County. This heavy rain is falling over areas that
already have experienced 3 to locally 5 inches of rain since late
this morning. This rain will cause Urban and Small Stream flooding
in the advisory area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Escanaba... Menominee... Gladstone... Ford River... Rapid River...
Stephenson... Powers... La Branche... Hermansville... Bagley...
Wilson... Spalding... Bark River... Nadeau... Brampton... Whitney...
Cornell... Gourley... Daggett and Faithorn.

Additional rainfall of 1 to 2 inches is expected over the area
through the early overnight hours. This additional rain will lead to
minor flooding... especially in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into
areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually
deeper than they appear... and are even harder to judge at night when
flooding can be especially dangerous. Just one foot of flowing water
is powerful enough to sweep vehicles off the Road. When encountering
flooded roads make the smart choice... turn around... dont drown.

To report flooding... have the nearest law enforcement agency relay
your report to the National Weather Service forecast office. You may
also submit reports of flooding to the National Weather Service via
our facebook or twitter pages.
