Winter Weather Advisory
Issued: 9:49 PM EST Feb. 9, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM EST
Wednesday...

* lake effect snow showers will continue to increase in coverage
and intensity across the advisory area through the overnight
hours.

* Snowfall rates of one to two inches per hour are possible
within the heaviest lake effect snow bands.

* Snow ratios will average 20:1... resulting in a dry snow which
will be more likely to blow around.

* Total snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches are expected through
the day on Wednesday. Locally higher amounts are possible
where snow showers persist.

* Significant reductions in visibility are expected. Wind gusts
of 15 to 25 mph will result in blowing and drifting snow.

* Travel will be hazardous... including during the morning
commute on Wednesday.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will
cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and
limited visibilities... and use caution while driving. For the
latest Road conditions... go to the mdot website at Michigan.Gov.
