Areal Flood Warning
Statement as of 12:51 AM EDT on August 04, 2015

The National Weather Service in Jackson KY has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
northern Montgomery County in east central Kentucky...
central Bath County in east central Kentucky...

* until 945 am EDT Tuesday

* at 1248 am EDT... County dispatch reported multiple roads closed
within the warned area. Flash flooding has subsided... however as
runoff makes its way to larger creeks and streams... additional
rises through the overnight will likely occur... keeping roads
flooded through daybreak.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Owingsville... Marshall... Sharpsburg... Salt Lick... Judy... Flat
Creek... Bourbon furnace... Preston... Crooks... Polksville... Olympia
Springs... stoops... Olympia... Stepstone and Kendall Springs.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into
areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually
deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful
enough to sweep vehicles off the Road. When encountering flooded
roads make the smart choice... turn around... dont drown.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding. If flooding is observed act quickly. Move up to
higher ground to escape flood waters. Do not stay in areas subject to
flooding when water begins rising.
