The National Weather Service in Nashville has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow... which is in effect until 6 PM CST
this evening.

* Timing... until 6 PM CST this evening.

* Main impact... hazardous travel conditions across the area due
to snowfall as well as patchy ice on roadways.

* Total snow accumulations... around 1 inch possible with locally
higher amounts.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow
covered roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.

... Light snowfall accumulations possible through this afternoon
for southwestern and western portions of middle Tennessee...

For areas generally along and west of an Erin... to Columbia...
to Lewisburg line... periods of scattered to numerous light snow
showers will continue through the afternoon hours. Snowfall
accumulation amounts will range from around one half of an inch
near the Tennessee River valley up to one inch across western
portions of this area. Although snowfall is not likely to result
in widespread travel impacts... some locations could experience
slippery Road conditions... especially secondary roads. Caution is
advised when traveling area roadways through the afternoon hours.

through Tuesday afternoon for locations west of the Cumberland
Plateau...

Wintry weather will continue across middle Tennessee this afternoon
and evening following this morning's cold frontal passage. Mainly
light snow will continue through the night and into Tuesday.

Total snowfall accumulation up to one inch is possible for this
event. Although the snow is not likely to result in widespread
travel impacts, a few locations could experience slippery roads,
especially secondary roads. Caution while traveling tonight and
Tuesday is advised.
