Winter Weather Advisory
Issued: 3:09 AM CST Feb. 8, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 5 PM EST /4 PM CST/
this afternoon to 7 am EST /6 am CST/ Wednesday...

The National Weather Service in Morristown has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for light snow... which is in effect from 5 PM EST
/4 PM CST/ this afternoon to 7 am EST /6 am CST/ Wednesday.

* Event... a cold front will bring subfreezing air into the region
late this afternoon... changing rain over to all snow after sunset
tonight. Snow showers will persist overnight and into the day on
Tuesday... before tapering off Tuesday night. Generally... 1 to 2
inches of accumulation is expected... with elevated areas along
the Cumberland Plateau receiving up to 3 inches.

* Timing... light snowfall accumulations are expected tonight
through Tuesday night.

* Impacts... the snow could cause hazardous driving conditions...
especially on secondary roads.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow are
expected or occurring... but accumulations are expected to be
light. Driving and walking may be difficult on untreated
roadways and sidewalks. Be prepared for snow covered roads and
limited visibilities. If you must travel... slow down and allow
extra time to reach your destination.
