Watches & Warnings

Winter Weather Advisory
Issued: 3:14 PM EST Feb. 8, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory now in effect until 10 am EST
Wednesday...

* locations... for higher elevations in portions of far north
Georgia.

* Hazard types... accumulating snow and areas of black ice.

* Accumulations... 1 to 2 inches of snow with isolated higher
amounts possible at elevations above 2500 feet.

* Timing... through 10 am Wednesday.

* Impacts... snow/ice on roads will create hazardous driving
conditions. Even the lower elevations of north Georgia will see
the potential for slick spots on roadways due to black ice
tonight and into Wednesday morning as any lingering moisture on
the roads will re-freeze.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow
covered roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.
