Watches & Warnings

Winter Weather Advisory
Issued: 3:32 AM EST Feb. 8, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 7 am this
morning to 7 PM EST Tuesday...

* locations... for portions of north Georgia... mainly east and
north of a line from Ringgold to Dawsonville to Cleveland.

* Hazard types... accumulating snow and areas of black ice.

* Accumulations... 1 to 2 inches of snow with isolated higher
amounts possible at elevations above 2500 feet.

* Timing... 7 am Monday through 7 PM Tuesday for snow. Best chance
of any black ice would be Monday night and Tuesday night.

* Impacts... snow/ice on roads will create hazardous driving
conditions. Even the lower elevations of north Georgia will see
the potential for slick spots on roadways due to black ice
Monday night and Tuesday night as any lingering moisture on the
roads will re-freeze.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow
covered roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.
