... A Severe Thunderstorm Warning remains in effect until 730 PM EDT
for east central Pickens... central Greenville and northeastern
Anderson counties...

At 717 PM EDT... the public reported a severe thunderstorm producing
quarter size hail and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. This storm
was located near Greenville downtown... or near welcome... moving
southwest at 15 mph.

Locations impacted include...
Greenville downtown... Easley... Mauldin... Berea... welcome...
Powdersville... Piedmont... West Pelzer... Furman University and
Greenville Eastside.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

This storm is capable of blowing down scattered trees and power
lines. Brief large hail may also occur. Seek shelter inside an
interior room.

This storm is also producing extremely heavy rainfall. Flooding of
drainage ditches and low lying areas may occur. Do not drive through
areas where water is flowing over the Road.

... Strong thunderstorm will impact portions of east central
Pickens... central Greenville and northeastern Anderson counties until
730 PM EDT...

At 645 PM EDT... Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Greenville downtown... moving southwest at 15 mph.

Pea size hail and wind gusts up to 40 mph will be possible with this
storm.

Locations impacted include...
Greenville downtown... Easley... Mauldin... Taylors... Berea... welcome...
Powdersville... Piedmont... Williamston and West Pelzer.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Torrential rainfall may flood areas with poor drainage... such as
ditches and underpasses. Avoid these areas and do not cross flooded
roads. Water levels of small streams and rivers may also rise
rapidly. Seek higher ground if threatened by flood waters.

Frequent lightning is occurring with this storm. If outdoors... try to
get indoors or into a hard topped vehicle. Otherwise... stay away from
open areas and isolated high objects such as trees. When indoors...
stay away from windows and doors and avoid using wired electronic
