Special Statement
Issued: 6:23 PM EST Feb. 12, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Areas of black ice likely through tonight...

Wintry precipitation has ended across the area but lingering
moisture coupled with temperatures dropping into the 20s overnight
will lead to areas of black ice on area roadways. Motorists should
drive with caution and be particularly cautious on bridges and
overpasses... which become very slick overnight.

Thin sheets of ice... called black ice... may be difficult to see
especially during the pre-dawn hours. They may appear to be wet
spots on the Road. Motorists will have a difficult time
determining which spots are just wet and which are icy.
