... Coastal Flood Advisory in effect from 10 PM this evening to 1 am
EST Thursday...

The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a coastal
Flood Advisory... which is in effect from 10 PM this evening to 1 am
EST Thursday.

* Location... locations bordering along the lower Cape Fear River
from downtown Wilmington southward.


* Coastal flooding... water levels are expected to peak around 6 feet
MLLW at the downtown Wilmington river gauge. The coastal flood
threshold for shallow flooding along the lower Cape Fear River
is 5.50 feet MLLW.

* Timing... shallow flooding will occur between 10 PM this evening and
100 am Thursday morning... with high tide occurring around 10 PM.

* Impacts... around a foot of water will cover parts of battleship
Road and U.S.S. North Carolina Road. Water will spread out of
storm drains across portions of Water Street. Water will spread
onto portions of River Road south of cape Boulevard. Portions
of canal drive of Carolina Beach will observe water across its
roadway.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A coastal Flood Advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides will
combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.
