... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 7 am EST
Thursday...

* locations... from the North Carolina mountains... north into the
mountain Empire of southwest Virginia... and into the
Greenbrier valley and Alleghany Highlands.

* Hazard types... accumulating snow showers... blowing snow and
wind chills.

* Accumulations... additional snow accumulation of up to 3 inches...
mainly on western slopes.

* Timing... through Wednesday night.

* Impacts... untreated roads will be snow covered and slick.
Visibilities could be reduced at times in heavier snow showers
or blowing snow... especially in the higher elevations.

* Winds... west 15 to 25 mph. Gusts up to 40 mph by Wednesday
evening.

* Temperatures... lows tonight 10 to 20. Highs on Wednesday in
the upper teens to lower 20s.

* Wind chills... 5 below zero to 5 above late tonight... except
colder in the higher elevations. 5 below to 20 below zero
Wednesday night.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow will cause
travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited
visibilities... and use caution while driving.

If you have to venture outside make sure you wear layers of loose
fitting, lightweight clothing... a hat and gloves. Make sure your
pets are kept warm as well.
