... Lake effect snow watch remains in effect from Friday morning
through late Friday night...

The National Weather Service in Burlington continues the lake
effect snow watch... which is in effect from Friday morning
through late Friday night.

* Locations... southern Saint Lawrence County... especially areas
west of Route 56 and south of Route 3.

* Hazard types... snow... heavy at times.

* Accumulations... 4 to 6 inches of snow with locally higher
amounts.

* Maximum snowfall rate... up to 1 inch per hour... mainly Friday
afternoon through evening.

* Timing... a band of lake effect snow showers will move into the
Saint Lawrence valley Friday morning and continue to affect
the area through Friday evening.

* Impacts... difficult travel due to moderate to heavy snowfall
accumulating on roads as well as reduced visibilities.

* Winds... southwest 5 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

* Temperatures... highs around 20. Lows zero to 10 below zero.

* Visibilities... a half mile or less at times.

A lake effect snow watch means there is a potential for a large
amount of snow in only a few hours. Visibilities and depth of
snow can vary greatly... impacting travel significantly. Continue
