... Wind chill warning remains in effect from 4 am Saturday to
1 PM EST Sunday...

* locations... the southern tier... Syracuse area and The Finger
lakes regions of New York.

* Hazard types... dangerously low wind chills and extreme cold.

* Timing... beginning Saturday morning... coldest Saturday night
into Sunday morning.

* Impacts... potential frostbite and hypothermia. The extreme
cold may also lead to potential frozen pipes.

* Wind chill readings... 15 to 30 below zero Saturday... then 25 t0
35 below Saturday night into Sunday morning. Lowest wind chills
will be over the higher terrain.

* Winds... becoming northwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts of 30 to 40
mph Saturday... decreasing late Saturday night into Sunday.

* Temperatures... near zero to 5 below zero Saturday... and
continuing to fall through Saturday night to lows of 5 to 15
below zero Sunday morning... coldest at higher elevations.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A wind chill warning means the combination of very cold air and
strong winds will create dangerously low wind chill values. This
will result in frost bite and lead to hypothermia or death if
precautions are not taken.

... A dangerous snow squall will affect northeastern Schuyler...
western Madison... northern Cortland... Cayuga... northern Tompkins and
southern Onondaga counties...

* until 130 am EST.

* At 1225 am EST... a dangerous snow squall was along a line extending
from near Bridgeport to near Canoga... and moving southeast at 20
mph.

This dangerous squall will be near...
Lyndon and Kirkville around 1235 am EST.
Manlius around 1240 am EST.
Sullivan and Chittenango around 1245 am EST.
Aurora and Levanna around 1250 am EST.
Watervale around 1255 am EST.
Cazenovia around 105 am EST.
Ledyard and Venice Center around 110 am EST.
King Ferry around 115 am EST.

Visibilities will drop quickly to near zero in this dangerous squall.

Use extra caution if you must travel into or through this dangerous
snow squall. Rapid changes in visibility and potentially slick roads
are likely to lead to accidents. Consider delaying travel until the
squall passes your location.
