Watches & Warnings

Winter Weather Advisory
Issued: 9:52 AM EST Feb. 9, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 am EST
Wednesday...

* locations... southeastern Pennsylvania... portions of northern
and central New Jersey.

* Accumulations... snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches.

* Timing... wet snow may become briefly heavy this afternoon or
evening.

* Impacts... accumulating snow will affect travel, especially during
the evening commute. Even the Wednesday morning commute may be
affected by the last batches of snow leaving the area. Road
conditions will likely deteriorate during times of heavier
snowfall rates. Remember... bridges and other elevated surfaces
tend to become slippery first.

* Temperatures... within a few degrees of 30.

* Winds... northeast 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered
roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while driving.

Report snow and ice accumulation to the National Weather Service
by calling our trained spotter line... posting to the NWS Mount
Holly facebook Page... or using twitter @nws_mountholly.

Snowfall and ice accumulation forecast maps in addition to
experimental probabilistic snowfall information for the latest
event are available online at www.Weather.Gov/phi/winter

Coastal Flood Warning
Issued: 9:22 AM EST Feb. 9, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Coastal Flood Warning remains in effect until 1 PM EST this
afternoon...

* location... coastal areas of New Jersey and Delaware.

* Coastal flooding... widespread moderate coastal flooding was
occurring this morning... similar to Monday morning and in some
cases even higher than yesterday. The only good news is that
there was slightly less wave runup along the coasts.

* Timing... the time of high tide along the New Jersey and Delaware
oceanfront was around 730 am to 830 am this morning. Recessions
will begin there shortly.

* Waves... wave heights of 5 to 9 feet were occurring along the
near-shore waters off New Jersey and Delaware.

* Impacts... widespread roadway flooding was occurring for a time
this morning with some Road closures expected. Isolated damage
to vulnerable structures is possible this morning. Wave action
will result in significant beach erosion.

* Outlook... tidal inundation flooding for this evenings and
Wednesday mornings high tide cycles will not be as extensive.
Advisories are likely to be needed in our afternoon update.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

This coastal Flood Warning means that moderate or major tidal
flooding is expected. Be prepared for rising water levels and
take appropriate action to protect life and property. Follow the
recommendations of local emergency management officials.

Do not drive your vehicle through flood waters. The water may be
deeper than you think it is. You will be putting yourself in
danger and your vehicle may be damaged... leading to costly
repairs.
