... Winter Storm Warning in effect from 6 am Monday to 6 am EST
Tuesday...

The National Weather Service in gray has issued a Winter Storm
Warning for heavy snow... which is in effect from 6 am Monday to 6
am EST Tuesday.

* Hazard types... heavy snow

* accumulations... snow accumulation of 5 to 8 inches.

* Timing... snow begins Monday morning and continues into Monday
night. Some light snow could continue into Tuesday but much of
the accumulation will be over by Tuesday morning.

* Impacts... roads will become snow covered and slippery. Strong
winds will cause blowing and drifting snow which will make clean
up efforts more difficult and could lead to low visibility in
spots.

* Winds... north 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

* Temperatures... in the lower 20s.

* Visibility... one quarter mile at times.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of
snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in
an emergency. If you must travel... keep an extra flashlight...
food... and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.

The National Weather Service in gray has issued a coastal Flood
Advisory... which is in effect from 10 am to noon EST Monday.

* Location... coastal York and Rockingham counties.

* Coastal flooding... coastal flooding may occur near the time of
the mid to late morning high tide. Some splash-over may occur
along the more vulnerable east and northeast facing beaches.

* Impacts... some beach erosion... splash-over with isolated coastal
flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A coastal Flood Advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides
will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.
