Winter Storm Warning
Issued: 3:39 AM EST Feb. 8, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 6 am this morning
to 6 am EST Tuesday...

* hazard types... heavy snow

* accumulations... snow accumulation of 5 to 8 inches.

* Timing... snow begins this morning and continues into tonight.
Some light snow could continue into Tuesday but much of the
accumulation will be over by Tuesday morning.

* Impacts... roads will become snow covered and slippery. Strong
winds will cause blowing and drifting snow which will make
clean up efforts more difficult and could lead to low
visibility in spots.

* Winds... north 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

* Temperatures... in the lower 20s.

* Visibility... one quarter mile at times.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of
snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in
an emergency. If you must travel... keep an extra flashlight...
food... and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.

... Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect from 10 am this
morning to noon EST today...

* location... coastal York and Rockingham counties.

* Coastal flooding... coastal flooding may occur near the time of
the mid to late morning high tide. Some splash-over may occur
along the more vulnerable east and northeast facing beaches.

* Impacts... some beach erosion... along with splash-over and isolated
coastal flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A coastal Flood Advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides
will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.
