for central Sullivan... northwestern Merrimack... south central Grafton
and northern Cheshire counties...

At 558 PM EDT... Doppler radar indicated a line of severe
thunderstorms capable of producing damaging winds in excess of 60
mph. These storms were located along a line extending from 9 miles
north of Canaan to cardigan mountain State Park to near New London to
8 miles southwest of Mount Sunapee State Park to Westmoreland...
moving northeast at 35 mph.

Locations impacted include...

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Severe thunderstorms produce damaging winds... destructive hail...
deadly lightning and very heavy rain. For your protection move to an
interior room on the lowest floor of your home or business. Heavy
rains flood roads quickly so do not drive into areas where water
covers the Road.

If you are in the path of these storms... prepare immediately for
large hail and damaging winds. People outside should move to a
shelter... preferably inside a strong building and away from windows.

To report severe weather... contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
office in Gray Maine.

In addition to large hail and damaging winds... continuous cloud to
ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Move indoors
immediately. Lightning is one of natures leading killers. Remember...
if you can hear thunder... you are close enough to be struck by
lightning.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms... and may
lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
