A trough stretching southwestward from the low pressure system will move to lie over New England on Friday. Rain will continue over several parts of the province today, especially over areas near the U.S. Border, where heavy thunderstorms could develop this afternoon. Total rainfall amounts are expected to reach 30 to 40 mm by Friday evening and could exceed 50 mm locally in these regions. Water levels could rise locally.
