Big Blow Yesterday!
By: yuccadave, 1:07 AM GMT on April 30, 2010
Strong winds came through yesterday (4/28/2010) ahead of a cold front. Had a wind gust of 63 mph at 5:19 PM. That's a Whole Gale on the Beaufort Scale - just 1 mph short of being a Violent Storm! Toppled a pine tree down the street that had a 16" trunk! Snapped it off right at the ground. It's nothing but a stack of firewood today. Yesterday's low barometric pressure was 29.23", and had a wind run of 370! Gusts all day into the lower 40's (mph) and often into the 50's.
Temperatures today didn't make it to 60 degrees.
