Tree VS house

This windfall did no roof damage we can see. It rode down on other standing trees.
The curve in the trunk seems to have saved the house
Weird eh.

Just an ear worm from 'If I listened long enough to you"
Spent this day hunting down and separating bits and pieces of old tools I have saved in corners of my shops.
It make me wonder:
Why would anyone anywhere design and build a piece of junk?
Much of the stuff I dismantled involved rechargeable battery systems built to fail with no end user repair possible.
I don't imagine that my effort will make any difference.

Bottled!

Finally got a "round tuit" and bottled the brew referred to in the previous blog.
Capping the beer and stacking it in cool dark always reminds me of watching and helping Mom and aunts put up preserves in the fall.
It's a "Feel Good" endeavor.
I don't pay much attention to all the warnings about meticulous sterization:
Clean bottles and fermentation containers are placed to drain and dry.
Aerobic conditions.

Oil change

If you have ever needed to change engine oil in a boat (without pulling the engine out) you need read no farther.
There is no room under the sump to place a receptacle for the old oil and if you do squish something flexible down there it will, I promise, spill whatever you have captured when you try to retrieve it.
So yesterday we bought a Pela 6 litre oil suction pump = $100 CDN plus tax.
