My truck driver was killed a day or so ago - very suspicious circumstances and not related to the road.
I have been behaving as a rumor courier this way and that way. Nothing I can link to this story shows up on internet news - maybe nobody gives a &+(# when your driver dies.
I ain't going to tell you the rumors.
All I want to say is this man should not have died this way.

Ylee:
You on at night again?
Dang hard to keep track of you.
I did not listen and can not expect the younguns to listen. Just the way it is according to the Tao.
Have a good night there - got a feelin' the next thing I hear will be:
"COME TO BED!"
'Course I can get away with ignoring the first call and sometimes I wait for the second.
Third call I'm out.

"I tell the younguns to work safe and they listen about as well as I did back then."

Not much going on here - alternate sun and cloud with dark clouds distant. I was trying to sort tools and supplies back into the pickup because it has been cleaned out for other uses since I have not been using it lately - one eye dear why.
Anyhow it's a slow process when you have even worse vision than usual.
What I want to produce is the tools I use most easily accessible. Measuring tape, utility knife and pencil are all I wear now.
In the old days I had huge leather belts with pouches bulging and about 30# of small tools all in familiar places. That worked well for a younger man but it torques your hips and restricts circulation so you wash up like me.
I tell the younguns to work safe and they listen about as well as I did back then.

Ylee:
Went out to seek more gossip but came back with nothing new.
CBC.BC is ignoring this particular event - they seem to be more concerned with young Canadians mucking about in the Mexico drug trade and turning up real "mucky" (read dead) or not turning up at all.

Thanks for thr update; I'm sure the RCMP's record will hold true this time. Hard for a person do disappear anymore, not without lots of careful planning! I have a feeling the perp didn't.

Google is running a tribute to the original RCMP/GRC:

"They always get their Man"
Maybe only in Canada.
Or woman if that happens to be the case.

Hi Ylee:
According to the kid working at the corner store the RCMP have identified a "Person of Interest" but have yet to find him or her.
The rumor that it was a homicide was confirmed today:
"Investigators rule sudden death of Yellow Point man a homicide
Julie Chadwick, Nanaimo Daily News
Published: Wednesday, May 22, 2013
The sudden death of a 76-yearold man, found in his Yellow Point home last week, has been ruled a homicide."

Good morning BriarCraft:
I have not found any details of the death of my friend. The fact that the RCMP Major Crime Unit was called in means to me that he did "not go gently".

Not meaning to make light of anything about this disturbing and unhappy story, but you did say he loved any female: Any possibility he was shot by a jealous husband?

The radio snippet indicated that cause of death was unknown at the time, but it seems like you're saying they now know he was shot. What a waste. I'm sorry for the loss of your friend.

Ylee:
I swung by your place: herd of antelope on the Kanzi.
This murder happened in a community smaller than a small town - my circle of acquaintances.
If I knew anything beyond the rumors I gathered and passed around yesterday me and the lumber supplier would be going hunting this morning.

Well, I hope they find the perp soon; there should be someone that knows something, especially if there's $10K out there to be had!

I'm sorry for your loss.

So I'm now Dirk Gently wandering around my own 'hood looking for the "Bad guys".
Gimme a hand:
Off the top of your head who would top a guy like this:
Somewhat overweight, 76 they say (looked much younger), loved any female, drove a dump truck whenever and where ever you asked, oh for crying out loud.
I've had fathers and grandfathers and best friends shot by their own hand, lost a couple of other buddies to gun shot from other folk (did I say I don't make this stuff up?)
you guessed it:
The new lady

Me too Shoreacres:
One lumber supplier has put up $10G for a capture - I would not want to be the bonehead who dropped the hammer
or anyone any where near this.
Toast!
And so it should be.
This man was a good man.

Oh, gosh. I'm so sorry. It's always unnerving as well as sad when such things happen. Maybe a little time will help to make things more clear.
Anyway - I'm sorry.
