Not the smartest hammer in the bag but neither am I.
As "Red Green" says:
"If she doesn't find you Handsome she should find you Handy."
Jupiter is not too good with power tools but I'm still managing that to some extent. Tloml puts up with me.

Dog seemed puzzled why I would need so many pictures

Well, the roof didn't leak during the long dry spell, did it? :) I would recommend some roof patch cement until you can replace your shingles!

Happy Halloween!

Good morning Bogon:
Thanks for brightening the comments section here. I'll try to match that photo if it ever stops raining here. Our Maples have slightly different leaf shapes and soon they will all be on the lawn.
Tloml is at work and Jupiter is at his house because his Pack Leader (my Son in law) just got home from a month or so sailing up the coast of Chile but I'll pass on the greeting.
Don't you hate it when this happens:
Noticed a tiny drip of water coming from the overhead light in the upstairs bedroom last night. I knew the old asphalt shingles needed replacing but procrastinated till too late. Of course it's the wrong time of year to be roofing. Climbed up to have a look in the attic but I don't think I'll go up outside till things dry out a bit.
Years ago a friend of mine showed me his method of "fixing" his leaking roof:
take a roll of aluminium foil and staple it down the roof joist to run the water out over the eaves. Maybe I'll try that.

Good morning BareFootontheRocks:
USGS shows 79 earthquakes in the area of Haida Gwaii - the latest shown is ten hours ago.
calpoppy:
I think that the swarm is tapering off but there was another Mag. 6.2 about 12 hours ago there.
Ylee: Finally got a call from my "Best Man". All folks there are in good shape. He described being at a wedding in the Community Hall when the shaking occurred:
- floor undulating in waves and the walls shimmying.
Every one went up the "Hill" and stayed for about 5 hours.
I was pretty well glued to Dr. Masters' blog yesterday and my news seemed trivial compared to what was happening on the East coast. This morning, though I'm sure there is more good information there, the blog is cluttered with the old trivia.
I guess we will have to wait a while to find out what has happened.

I'm assuming your friends on the island are OK from all the shaking and stuff.

More rockin and rollin on the Rim of Fire! I hope they settle down, seems like the aftershocks are getting less in magnitude.

After the 6.2, apparently another at 12:03 pm your time, 5.3, and another of 5.2 recorded at 12:16. Also a 5.1 at 11:17 am your time, prior to the 6.2. Locations S and SW of Sandspit. Per USGS.

Plenty earthquakes. Glad you and yours are okay. Please remain so.

Glad to hear it.
Read that there was no major reported damage but some power outages. Just wanted to make sure.

Good morning Rob:
We are fine here. Though there were some reports of "felt" movements at our distance from the epicenter we did not notice anything until Aussiestorm mentioned the Tsunami warning on DR. Masters' blog.
Local news got on it a while later and I see CBC saying now: "Tsunami warnings end after strong B.C. quake
No injuries or major damage reported in tsunami-ready British Columbia, Hawaii".

I saw the tsunami warning from Aussi on Dr. Masters' blog and watched CBC for any updates:
Tsunami warning for
Zone B - the Central Coast including Bella Coola Bella Bella and Shearwater continued

Persons in or near this area should be on the lookout for adverse weather conditions and take necessary safety precautions. Watch for updated statements.

Still Raining.

Rob:
I wanted to get a photo for you of Jupe trying to dig through the concrete to get down to his favorite wallow.
Just as well he would not come with 'cause the concrete is still pretty soft. I wanted to pull some forms so I could clean up the edges and corners a bit before I need a roto hammer. The only divot in the surface is where I stopped with the bull float. They had sent it out without the extension handle so I was leaning in and reaching and figured I should get off till it cured some more. Daughter said she will call it "Dad's Divot".

Hey Ylee:
I was just over at your place and most of the Cams look good. That would be interesting if my grand dog was wearing tags that came from your workplace.
Tloml just left to take Jupe for a (short) walk in the rain. He was excited to go. This morning I tried to get him to come with to see the new concrete and he just rolled upside down on his "softy" by the couch and stonewalled me.

Handsome dog! Like the bone-shaped tag! I think some of the aluminum from this plant goes to making those tags!

Good morning Rob:
We had Jupe stay here while I went in to pour a slab under his sundeck. He'll probably be disappointed because he liked to wallow in the fill in the shade there but the last thing we need is a large dog on a newly troweled concrete surface. I might take him in today and see what he thinks of our work. Maybe get another photo.
