So Tloml just phoned from work so I turned to look out the window and there was a doe with two fawns by the pond. Tloml said: "Where's Jupe?"
I grabbed the iPod and went downstairs and there's Jupiter laying with his paws in the air by the couch.
Some watchdog! So I took a number of pictures as the fawns and the mom leaped into the bush after locking Jupe in the house.
We will see when I upload whether it was a success.
The joke is on me apparently: I "blogged this photo" and showed up on my last entry. Oh well.
The 3D spider web always intrigues me.
How do they do that?

Yes you missed something. On my blog, near the end. 'round the bend where the screaming of the butterfly is surprisingly quiet. shhh

The barbed needle was a non sequitur | a parallelogram (or was it a pair o'telegrams) of the what was supposed to be a surprise had you surmised on my blog. Never mind then.

`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

OrangeRoses: Easy, please. I went back though our recent communications and see no need for you to barb that needle. You and I know I'm not the best student of the internet so: am I missing something?

Good Eve - ning YCD. Sorry to have mentioned something quite Jabberwockyish, although you may admire the Louis Carroll original?

There was a point on me needle but now it's barbed.

Say hello to your daughter and grand daughter and the boat and the fish-in-the-dish.

Evening OrangeRoses:
The squirrels were busy again this morning. I'm up fairly early but the ricochet off the skylite still startles me. Good to hear you did get some rain. Our lawn is a bit patchy - some areas still green but some dry and brown. We actually hope the moss will take over since it does not need to be mowed and it stays green.
I did see the Zen Koan the other day. Gotta go back and check it again but I've got an 0800 appointment tomorrow morning so I'm to bed.

YCD

Over here the squirrels were launching green pecan pod missalettes 30 ft onto my sidewalk and today I swept it clean. I hear the banging pine cones now. Also, hoping the cooler days|nites plus the suck-it-up-like-a-sponge recent rain greenery signified a temporary respite from the drought, I cut the grass today. I hadn't cut some areas for 2 months because other spots turned brown when I cut the grass. No. I don't have a hose.

I've stopped the Mood for the Day/Eve pictures for now and in their place put some Zen Koan style lyrics, that I think you might just like and laugh.

Straight Line distance from me to Nanaimo, BC, Canada is 2941.56 km = 1827.80 mi

I just thought that might be a piece of trivia 4 U !

Not to worry Rob:
We are in a learning curve with our blogs. Sometimes life gets in the way. Quite often I just go to your place and fire up a tune and sit there listening and watching. Sometimes there is nothing to say. Occasionally You and RTLSNK and Pottery need to be brought back to Earth and that's where I come in.
!3$ Nylock Nut is about as good as it gets around here. The 35 year old Mercruiser drive ain't so common anymore - just happens to be the best I/O drive unit ever built.
This one has been through a number of our learning curves: I've busted it off and had it welded back together and been farther out than shall we say a Day Tripper.
So Bogon: I too decided to limit my experience of Dali.
A person could get seriously discombobulated watching the slide show there but I'm pretty sure I'll go back.
Been to some " Modern Art" galleries here and there and the one I remember was Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. BIL bought and brought a stone sculpture home as "carry on" luggage.
Tloml just wanted a cloth wall hanging which now covers the breaker panel.

Thirteen dollars? Seems like you ought to get a whole box of nuts for that. Must be a really big one!

Went over to OrangeRoses' Dali site for a while. I like some of Dali's work, but my eyes glaze over after looking at a few dozen paintings in a row. Can't really handle art museums for long.

Saw your 3D web title the other day and thought you had some cool new web app.

LOL

Cool web.

$13 nylock...not cool!

Sorry I've been remiss about getting around to my friend's blogs, but it's been a crazy few days here...throw a threatening tropical system in the mix and the weather in central FL today and...well, I'm sure you get the picture.

Have a great evening YCD!

My best to Tloml.

S.S. Sam: Have you emailed Sarah?
I don't think I want to watch storage tanks being filled and emptied into frail ships no matter how good the food is.
Today: Well Tloml took the garbage away and then we went to town. Left the dinged prop with the guy at "Rev Propeller". He gave me one old nylock nut and I happily paid 13$ for a new one. There are times when a 13$ nut is worth more than that if you happen to need/have it.
Went on to drop Jupiter off at his real home (though he seems to think this is part of his real home as well - just takes a human and a car to get him from place to place, about 20 km, in his "yard").

hi Ken - Blind or not, the natives are getting restless. On Sept 1 there will be canoes going from Ambleside through Burrard Inlet to Tsleil-Waututh at Cates Park near Deep Cove. Starts at 1 and the feast is at 5 and you can eat while looking directly at the Kinder Morgan tank farm.

My morning read:
http://thetyee.ca/News/2012/08/21/TransCanada-Tex as-Rebellion/
Our proposed "Northern Gateway" pipeline(s) is(are) running a similar route albeit West instead of South.
Folks who happen to have any interest in the land or waters these pipelines or tanker ships traverse are gettin' uppity.
I read somewhere that the Northern Gateway was a "blind" so the Keystone would be approved. Maybe both proposals are blinds so everyone will sigh with relief when the Massive Money announces they simply have to build a couple of nuclear power plants and the Mother of all Refineries right in the middle of the Tar Sand.
OOop AAck!

Picked up a rebuilt prop for the I/O leg yesterday and before I went to the boat I searched around for a spare Nylock nut but did not find it. I must have had some self fulfilling premonition because when I pulled the nylock nut off the drive I dropped it in the sea. Oh well. I'll take the dinged up prop in for balancing and buy two or maybe three nylocks.
The good news is that I had been invited to a Tres Pinata Birthday party for the 7 year old daughter of some friends. The couple is a Mexico/Vancouver Island combination and there were adults from Cuba, Mexico, Guatemala, First Nations and Canada and the resulting offspring were a fine blend. The food is always wonderful. Had a good chat with Bernice, the First Nations Matriarch, and watched as she and three or four generations of daughters took pictures and texted from iPhones and talked about Facebook. I assume I showed up on a number of Facebook pages because I was sitting near the Great Grand Mother wearing a white Stetson and "Red Tab" jeans with suspenders.

OMG! I made it to 409. Called Tloml up and she happens to know a bit of art history and likes Dali once he dumps the Picasso shtick. I can not digest 409 pictures so I will come back to the link and maybe do 100 at a time. OOOp AAck!

Use it or lose it.
Hi OrangeRoses. I like the woolly furniture! Some day I'll check out the link but one Dali painting takes a long time to digest.
Of course I'm going there now. I'm no stranger to danger.
