A little about my self -

I joined weather Underground in August of 2005 right after they opened the blogging feature. I have been a weather hobbyist since the middle 60's when I lived on the west coast of Florida, north of the Tampa Bay area. I currently live in a small community in central Illinois.

I have been through numerous Hurricanes during my life time. The worse being Hurricane Camille in August 17,1969, A Cat 5, where the eye passed over the location I was at. That being Biloxi, Ms when I was in the USAF stationed at Keesler AFB.

Hi Wabbit, BRRRRR 54 sounds cold to me but after the winter you have had not so bad... actually we got down to 60 last night and only 75 for our high yesterday and today...
Then back up to 80's......
Don't hate me because I live in SE Fla.. even Central and North Florida have been getting killed with all the cold this winter (and last winter too) only way down here in SE Fla at the tip of the sandbar are we escaping most of the cold this year.

Been a while, but I did stop by last month and like I always say, I want to get by more and more to see all the old gang again, over on FB we do all talk about the "good old WU Days" often... so many are over there now.

Did you know Ogal, and her husband now live in Jackson Hole, WY ? their favorite place in the world>
They just completed their move a few weeks ago...

It is a dream come true for them; they neither one ever really liked Florida, it was just a great Job opportunity is why they moved here to start with.

Anyway I am rambling and I just wanted to stop by and say HI! Hope all is well and I will try to come back again soon.

Hi Skye, I may not make it to your blog this trip but wanted you to know I did contact that person again in Merritt Island, my second contact, I hope that person replies this time.
But anyway thanks for the link and if you know of any one else who has little "tourist or art gallery" shops and needs paintings by local artist, let me know and I will follow up with them.

Bye
everyone!!

Gamma .. good to see you .. heard there was a group of WUBA's on FB .. tried to get an invite but didn't work .. don't know who the administrator of it is ..

can't really tell .. blowing at about a 45 degree angle with the wind we have down here .. but looks to be smaller flakes ..

Statement as of 9:33 AM CDT on March 11, 2014

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 10 PM this
evening to 1 PM CDT Wednesday...

A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 10 PM this
evening to 1 PM CDT Wednesday.

* Timing... rain will overspread much of central Illinois this
evening... then change to snow late evening from Rushville to
Bloomington northward. The change to snow will likely occur
shortly after midnight around Springfield and Jacksonville...
then between midnight and 3 am for areas from Decatur east to
Danville. The snow will end from west to east Wednesday
morning.

* Accumulations... accumulations of 3 to 5 inches are likely from
Rushville to Danville northward. Locally higher amounts are
possible... especially from Bloomington northeast. Closer to the
I-72 corridor... snow totals of 2 to 3 inches are likely. The
heaviest snow is most likely between midnight and sunrise.

* Wind... northerly winds will increase overnight and range from
20 to 30 mph. Some gusts to around 40 mph are possible near
the I-57 corridor. The windy conditions will continue into
Wednesday morning.

* Impacts... roads will quickly become slushy as the snow
accumulates. As temperatures fall into the 20s overnight... the
slush will begin to freeze as well... causing icy travel
conditions. Visibility will be significantly reduced in the
heavier snow bands. The wet snow is expected to limit the
amount of blowing and drifting to a relative minimum...
although areas near Champaign and Danville are more likely to
see some blowing snow due to the higher wind speeds in that
area.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow
covered roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.

Well 59 was all we could get to today .. Tuesday will be in the mid 50's during the day before cooling down to near 30 degrees and we are expecting 3-5 inches of snow overnight and Wednesday morning ..

we are right on the 3-5 / 5-8 inch line so could be iffy what we get all according to the track of the low ..
