A little about my self -

I joined weather Underground in August of 2005 right after they opened the blogging feature. I have been a weather hobbyist since the middle 60's when I lived on the west coast of Florida, north of the Tampa Bay area. I currently live in a small community in central Illinois.

I have been through numerous Hurricanes during my life time. The worse being Hurricane Camille in August 17,1969, A Cat 5, where the eye passed over the location I was at. That being Biloxi, Ms when I was in the USAF stationed at Keesler AFB.

Happy Thanksgiving, Wab.

How nice that your temps are above average for the holiday.

We're not as warm today, as I'd hoped, but it's still nice sunny weather. Tomorrow might get up to the upper 60's and might touch 70!

Made it up to 59 here at the house and there was a beautiful pale blue sky ..

spent a couple of hours out doing some shopping and then just walking .. could have been a few degrees warmer but I am not complaining at all !!

I was at the river yesterday & it was really high. Way out it's banks & we've had nothing more than sprinkles this week.

So much for the rumors of sun.

We were supposed to have a huge high tide this a.m. due to the perigean spring moon.

I didn't even know it flooded over by the river until I saw the news last night. They expected more today. Not in the area I am in; that tends to flood with high tide and a LOT of rain and we haven't had much rain.

Hi, wab.

About 45 here right now (a little after 9:00 our time) but it's so damp out, it feels colder.

Highs for the next few days will be low 60's and lows in the upper 40's.

The sun is rumored to perhaps peep out tomorrow but rain will be back for the weekend.

Of course it will. I have laundry to wash and peg out on the line!

It's also the time of year Hubby and I start our annual 'Dueling Thermostats' competition. He wants to be able to sit here sock-less, with cotton work pants and a T shirt. I dress for cool weather (socks and layers) and am much, much happier with the temp around 70-72. He keeps kicking it up to 75-80, heating bill be damned. I turn it down; he sneaks around the corner and ramps it back up again.

Hi, y'all, from ex-Chicago wu-bie, now in Sarasota, FL. "Hoping Ma Nature.." brought me back to a description of God - could double for Ma Nature - as an African-American school bus driver, who sings backup for Motown in the evening. ...

'infantile folly' indeed. Portlight and others in wu-land are still up in NE helping. Blankets for them, too.

Enjoy the warmth down there and remember us when the wind and snow is howling outside of our ice covered windows ...

Hiyas cuddly one, to you & your's. Stay warm, stay safe! Too much heartache for our NE friends. :-( Devastating year with year of drought & storms. Hoping Ma Nature looks more kindly upon our infantile folly next year. Happy Holiday's Wab!

Tis is colder here in Mississippi too. Once the grass starts growing down here, I have my flip-flops by the door as I rather wear them than any other shoes. Today I slipped into them and went to start the car. Made a U-Turn and went back inside for other kind of shoes, it was that cold outside. We saw the sun and blue skies but felt the touch of winter coming around the corner.
Have a great weekend as it is about to set in on us too. Oh, and a nice Friday too.

LOL .. maybe you should stay in bed all day .. or get a pair of blinders so you couldn't see everything ..

This morning at 5am we woke up to 19 degrees with a wind chill of 9. Cold enough for you? ;-))

Officially the temperature at the airport across the river dropped from 72 to the low this morning of 19 for a 48 drop of 53 degrees. And we got snow on the ground finally for a few hours.

Supposed to be much warmer Tuesday.

You got down a little lower then us .. and we didn't get any snow as the front moved through before the temp dropped low enough ..

Calling for highs this week in the mid to upper 40's ..

Hey, wab.

Getting nippy up your way, I see.

Our temps are dropping some. A bit rollercoaster-y, though. Down to 39 or so for a night or two, with highs in the 60's. Then the lows will jump back up to the 40's/50's. It was about 75 out there this afternoon.

I know it'll get cooler for us before long but we don't get as cold as you do.

Hope you've got your longjohns inventoried, washed, mended and new ones on order, if need be.
