A little about my self -
I joined weather Underground in August of 2005 right after they opened the blogging feature. I have been a weather hobbyist since the middle 60's when I lived on the west coast of Florida, north of the Tampa Bay area. I currently live in a small community in central Illinois.
I have been through numerous Hurricanes during my life time. The worse being Hurricane Camille in August 17,1969, A Cat 5, where the eye passed over the location I was at. That being Biloxi, Ms when I was in the USAF stationed at Keesler AFB.

I voted!! ran out of time to run in here this morning to throw out a hug your way... so here is one for this evening.. (((( whiterabit )))))
Sun is trying to peak out of the clouds .. has warmed to 50 degrees so far ...
Forecast now calling for rain/snow mix Sunday nite ...
Beautiful today with temps in the high 50's .. 57 degrees here now under sunny skies ...
Hiyas cuddly one, to you & your's. Stay warm, stay safe! Too much heartache for our NE friends. :-( Devastating year with year of drought & storms. Hoping Ma Nature looks more kindly upon our infantile folly next year. Happy Holiday's Wab!
Have a happy weekend
And Yes, and they are calling for snow tonite !!!
Getting nippy up your way, I see.
Our temps are dropping some. A bit rollercoaster-y, though. Down to 39 or so for a night or two, with highs in the 60's. Then the lows will jump back up to the 40's/50's. It was about 75 out there this afternoon.
I know it'll get cooler for us before long but we don't get as cold as you do.
Hope you've got your longjohns inventoried, washed, mended and new ones on order, if need be.
So do I ..
Now it is the 12th, here .... And dark and cold as yet. The central heating comes on at 5:45, in time for the alarm going off at 6am, so I am staying in bed a little longer, where I am warm!!!
Sleep well, when you finally turn in!
It's wonderful here in SEFL, a paradise for a Finn... :)
I mustn't complain, as autumn has been fairly mild, although grey and damp.
I would love to see some BLUE sky!!
Sandi .. the rain and wind has moved to the east.. it is only 33 degrees and its still falling .. but the rain moved off before it had a chance to turn to snow ..
LOL .. have done that also .. lay in bed till the furnace clicked on ..
the temp has dropped 36 degrees from the high of 66.. and still going down ..
Tonight forecast is upper 10s. That would be a 56 degree drop in 48 hours.
We made it up to 39 degrees this afternoon but the wind chill made it feel much colder ..
This morning at 5am we woke up to 19 degrees with a wind chill of 9. Cold enough for you? ;-))
Officially the temperature at the airport across the river dropped from 72 to the low this morning of 19 for a 48 drop of 53 degrees. And we got snow on the ground finally for a few hours.
Supposed to be much warmer Tuesday.
You got down a little lower then us .. and we didn't get any snow as the front moved through before the temp dropped low enough ..
Calling for highs this week in the mid to upper 40's ..
It is also nearly 50 degrees, so much warmer than yesterday, although I am staying in bed until lunchtime to stay out of trouble! If I am up I manage to see things that need doing, which I shouldn't do! lol
LOL .. maybe you should stay in bed all day .. or get a pair of blinders so you couldn't see everything ..
Hope the blue skies last the day ..
That's better then the shoveling amounts we'll get later..
Have a great weekend as it is about to set in on us too. Oh, and a nice Friday too.
Mother Blanket will co-operate :) Sending love and warmth your way - and blue skies to Sandi!
Hi, y'all, from ex-Chicago wu-bie, now in Sarasota, FL. "Hoping Ma Nature.." brought me back to a description of God - could double for Ma Nature - as an African-American school bus driver, who sings backup for Motown in the evening. ...
'infantile folly' indeed. Portlight and others in wu-land are still up in NE helping. Blankets for them, too.
Enjoy the warmth down there and remember us when the wind and snow is howling outside of our ice covered windows ...
About 45 here right now (a little after 9:00 our time) but it's so damp out, it feels colder.
Highs for the next few days will be low 60's and lows in the upper 40's.
The sun is rumored to perhaps peep out tomorrow but rain will be back for the weekend.
Of course it will. I have laundry to wash and peg out on the line!
It's also the time of year Hubby and I start our annual 'Dueling Thermostats' competition. He wants to be able to sit here sock-less, with cotton work pants and a T shirt. I dress for cool weather (socks and layers) and am much, much happier with the temp around 70-72. He keeps kicking it up to 75-80, heating bill be damned. I turn it down; he sneaks around the corner and ramps it back up again.
We were supposed to have a huge high tide this a.m. due to the perigean spring moon.
I didn't even know it flooded over by the river until I saw the news last night. They expected more today. Not in the area I am in; that tends to flood with high tide and a LOT of rain and we haven't had much rain.
