While tornadoes are rare in Turkey, waterspouts are frequently seen, especially during fall. A series of waterspouts formed off the shore of Alanya yesterday, and below is the largest of them:
The cyclone over Eastern Mediterranean that is responsible for this waterspout dumped some 250 mm of rain over Antalya, in 48 hours, as we expected. This is more than 4 times the October average for Antalya!
