I have two trees of this species in my woods next to my house. But they both have different barks than the one pictured on the wiki page. Different subspecies I suppose.

here is some more to add to the pot...

1961 Typhoon Nancy reached top winds of 215 mph (unofficial)... if that were to be the case, the knot reading would be 185kts... dang!!

then it'll have a ACE reading of 3.42 (185 its)... and it had a ACE reading of 1.96 for 5.5 days which equal to a 22 advisory period in which it would be added...

so it's ACE would end up to be higher than 50 in just a week.
