You were in your basement while I was hoping I was in a secluded location protected from the high water so I could watch the storm unfold. Too bad I was still in Louisiana. :/

We sure are different people. :P

Isaac, Gustav, Katrina etc... Nope I would want to be in your shoes

Yes wxgeek, I'm in Stamford CT. located about a mile South of the Merritt Parkway, or about 3-4 miles or so inland from Long Island Sound, elevation 150ft.--so no flooding issues(except for a wet basement from time to time from rain water seeping in), and the sump pump not working!

If you have then why you don't?

Because confidence isn't something that comes easy. I have a lot more confidence than I did two years ago, but I have my days where I struggle immensely. I understand Nathan's situation better than he'll ever know.

Hard to get confidence sometimes. The working methods seem a little different for each person.

How can you recommend self-confidence?! You don't understand Max (really want to use a curse word here, think about Lake Mead)! That's all I hear from anyone, is "you just need a confidence-boost". Don't you think I would've tried that already?!

*Steaming*

If you have then why you don't? We end to have a serious conversation about this!

But I see I'm off-topic now and "derailing the blog". Shall be back in three minutes, need a glass of water and take temperature measurements.

Yeah Max, I know it was bad. Actually felt a bit "guilty" that we got off so easily in our neighborhood.

I'm humble for those things Larry.
It's enough for me to be invited, everything else you decide.

This is what I see

You close in soooo much that out of the thousands of ways to go you just choose none.
Try some self confidence, you feel "circled out" when you don't feel good inside yourself.

We got off so lucky last year from that storm, we had power, very little rain, no tree damage. At the time I thought it was a "bust" until I saw all the damage from around the Tri -State area on TV.

You're in CT right? Much the same here, except a few of those wind gusts shook the house up a bit.

In Norwalk... Around the Veterans Park Area (where I used to go lots) the entire area was flooded... Sand and water made it into south Norwalk...where the good restaurants are.

Everything was shut

What do you want him to do? Stand outside with a long, metal pole?

In your case I would suggest flying a kite with highly conductive wire ;)

Not in a flood zone. Just a little anxious about the front yard trees and the slightly INSANE prospect of 24-36 hours of hurricane force winds.

Good thing that aspect was overforecasted

I remember that Monday very well.

We prepared much more than we did for Irene. But I had no idea how scary it was going to be.

We were without power for nearly 4 days... People in the woods north of my location did over two weeks.

It got cold the night after and no heating.

I plan to do a blog about this later today

Max if you want to" visit my place", you're welcome to come over for dinner when you come back to CT. around Christmas time!

Oh really?
That would be awesome. I'm speechless.

Edit... A former high school teacher wants me to visit her, she is so eager about it and keeps reminding me too. She was my best teacher of all time. She began teaching me Latin and French among many other things

On the contrary, friend, you don't leave me with anxiety, I start out with it.

Is what important? Having communication with another human? I'm afraid so. If it wasn't important I would be just fine and happy, but no, I am a wretched teenager (ack! cliche again [more wretched than most]). I apologize for giving a share of my feelings, I can see the derision from you, just as I receive from others in the real world whenever I beg for patience and space, two items that I almost never receive.

Astro and Max, interesting discussion, posts 174-178, Astro we all have our strong and weak points, that's what makes it interesting. It's how we eventually handle these points, is key.

At least you understood what I said (and Kori and Brian).

I don't handle very well, and my friends know that, but that doesn't stop them from poking fun at me every once in a while. I don't mind in the moment, but it all builds over time.

Hi guys, yes I'm back visiting The Conference Room, it's currently 39.9F outside, mostly clear, some high clouds, wait, oops, it's down to 39.8F, yes digital thermometers can register in tenths of a degree. I guess were as accurate as out instruments are good.. Max, as for my own blog, I'll take a pass on that for now, rather visit you and Blizz's blog and make comments. I do a small weather forecast on Facebook for my friends and family--all 54 of them, every few days. They seem to like it.

Eh? Fb weather forecast?
I might wanna have a peek on that.

Oh come on Larry. I wanna to over to your place and comment. Remember you are running the show. It's all you. I'm not there

Do you not recall the times of near-pity you have held for me in response to my e-mails, sometimes bordering near a disgust that you even communicate with such a low creature as I? I fool you not, I swear.

What can I say? I have grown bored with the daily nuances of modern society. School is no longer fun, and I feel that there are few whom I see (visually, mind you) that are on the same intellect level as I. Which is a pity, because it reduces me to working with the rest of society, and society itself...which is a torturous thought just to type down.

Woe is me is too cliche I feel, but 'tis all I got until I create something better.
