How did I end up in this site?

First of, here is my previous blog. Check my latest hurricane chart, my YouTube video and other good stuff if you wish.

In 2007 I began looking for a website where I could see some more hurricane/overall weather information (since I was bored of going to weather.com, NWS and NHC during that year and 2006)

I found out about Weather Underground in Google search and I went over to the site, I liked it (but at the moment I was not satisfied, a premature thought).

At the time people here were focusing on Hurricane Dean, I used to go to the NHC site to get more info, but that was it. I wanted more like other satellite images, different forecasts, opinions and a whole different environment so WU perfectly fit the requirement after I went for he first time to Dr. Jeff Master's Blog. I was a little afraid of making an account (after I saw you could join the blog conversations), so just looking at what people posted here was enough for me because at the moment that was all I was looking for.

I spent 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 coming over to check (lurking) what was new, yeah...4 years! Took a long time to figure that one out.
In early 2011 I decided to make an account, (it was around this time exactly...11 PM) because I just had so many questions, wanted to contribute to what other members said or even ask something in particular; like sources of info I didn't recognize.

Like I stated above, on April 22 I went ahead to click on "sign up", I came up with my handle and voila!, here I am...
Honestly, like many handles I see here are easy for many (and their owner) to remember, I can't do mine yet...whatever!
I had to wait a day to start posting, but it was today when I created my account.

What does my handle mean? There is some meaning on it believe it or not (it isn't a bunch of letters and numbers jumbled up)

Take a look: trHUrrIXC5MMX
tr (tropical), HUrr (hurricane) X (meaning hurricane X, any hurricane really), C5 (category 5) and MMX (2010)

But, I prefer to be addressed as Max.

I made my first post on April 23 quoting someone (I forgot) about a satellite image. That was comment zero but the great beginning of a long adventure filled with wanders waiting for me.

Hurricane Irene was my first big thing. A year later in 2012 I began posting my graphics for the hurricane season (I remember doing lots of them) then for the long winter season we had (some still have). The best thing is many of you appreciated my work.
Sandy and Nemo will be unforgettable.

A personal note:
"From my first graphic I feel like I have improved so much, I feel like giving myself a pat in the back (no bragging)"

This is my second year here at WU, Im happy I got here (and this blog). I enjoy coming here everyday and asking things, comment on someone, joke/fool around (no trolling though!) and have fun overall.
All of you are nice to me, I appreciate it!

I also have to thank WU and the admins for teaching me so many things just as many fellow WU bloggers. Some of you are my buddies.

I hope to enjoy this year and the many upcoming years.

Thanks WU Community, you are the best!

Max

DIES TELLURIS MMXIII

Today is Earth Day, the day dedicated to our home planet in the universe.
If you think about it we live on a grain of sand along the beach, that's how big the universe is as compared to us and our planet.

Im proud of being Tellurian, as we all are. Imagine of you were out in space looking at Earth, what would you think on? Would you cry?, would you feel unprotected far from home?, would you want to return at once?
If so, why don't we take care of our only home... She has given everything to us, I mean everything! Even the energy you need to read and process these words.

We are amazed by the power of nature in all possible ways, from an mind-blowing aurora, major winter storm, to a deadly hurricane, tornado or earthquake.

We want to keep home clean for us, our children and for our future generations. What would you do with that candy wrap as you walk down the sidewalk? Im sure you'll find a place where Nature would be happy to see it in. Keep clean our planet. We have no other.

The world population will soon reach 7 billion (it may have already), there are many of us out there helping on this special day Mother Nature... Follow the example.

Take care of Earth!

_____________

Let Spring spring. Enjoy these times!
HELP OUR PLANET!
Stay clean, don't troll and be nice.

"Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain"
Nice weather quote I found for you.

I have edited the map i showed on post 5 now for the entire NE US states...looks good. Im going to use it for the next storm moving through the area.

Im working now on the Carolinas, then into the Michigan-Great Lakes area.

Rather cool day it was today, windy and cloudy.

Max, you are really putting time in and working hard on your Blog. Maybe you will become a "featured blogger" some day like Blizz is. Keep it up!

Hey LT... naa I don't think so. But I'll love to.

I'm working also on some coding, when I have up my next Saturday blog, you'll see lots of differences like pictures some mods have on their blogs about earthquakes, cyclones, overall weather etc.

Lot's of work I do here besides the work I do outside.

I have been working on a new map for all the USA counties, I began yesterday.
It consists of having a big US map and use it when tornado, hurricane, winter, flood, wind, tsunami (etc) alerts are issued therefore shading with the respective color each of the counties (cities within) being under the threat...

I began working from Maine going westwards. I just did CT, and finished all New England.

The left is still awaiting fix while the right (gray shades with black lines is almost done, I just have to work of the state border lines and coastlines a bit more and adding island barriers )

Long way to go. I can't wait to display the new look.
