BIG SEVERE WEATHER DAY!

Beware of the weather today because it could get stormy and potentially dangerous if you live in the Southern Plains, Along the Mississippi River, Ohio River Valley, interior Gulf states and around the Appalachians.

There is the potential for a dangerous-storms breakout today from Texas to the Ohio River valley. Please check your weather forecast more than often today if you live within such areas.

The Storm Prediction Center issued their convective Outlook for today for widespread damaging winds, large hail and possible tornadoes.

Picturing their words (including the chances of happening)

It is important to say, if you live anywhere just outside the shaded areas you must be vigilant anyway.
Think about the location if you must take immediate cover from a dangerous storm (or possible tornado)

Here is my Tornado Map, I have a broader range of possibilities.

Beyond the cool graphics, let me explain to you the color shades and what kind of weather fall whiten each category

Possible (PSBL) Thunderstorms light brown-green shade
It's basically the 10-20%-30% (low) chance for an event of happening. Meaning isolated thunderstorms could develop anywhere along this area.

In reference to the map, the following cities fall in this category:
Norfolk, VA...Atlanta, GA... New Orleans, MS... Shreveport, MS... Abilene, TX... Lincoln, NE... Des Moines, IA... Madison-Milwaukee, WII and Detroit, MI

Low ...yellow shade (30%-50%)
In this category, thunderstorms becoming more severe, some light hail and some gusty winds. Nothing major or dangerous.

In reference to the map, the following cities fall in this category:
Nashville-Memphis, TN... Dallas-Ft. Worth southern suburbs... Manhattan-Topeka, NE... Indianapolis, IN and Louisville-Lexington, KY...

Moderate ...orange shade (50%-70%)
Things turn severe in this category up to a certain extent, expect some damaging winds, hail from more severe thunderstorms. Low chance for a weak tornado also possible in the green shade
You must check for weather updates more often under this category

In reference to the map, the following cities fall in this category:
All Dallas-Fort Worth Area (including the suburbs to the north, east and west)... St Louis, MO... Kansas City, MO... Davenport, IA... Chicago, ILSpringfield, IL... Wichita, KS... Springfield, MO... Fayetteville-Fort Smith, AR and Texarkana, TX-AR.

High...red shade (70%+)
If you are under the red shade, you must be careful...seriously now, if you are under this category expect strong damaging winds, damaging large hail, higher chances for a tornado (EF0-EF2 intensity range)

In reference to the map, the following cities fall in this category:
Oklahoma City, OK... Joplin, MO (unfortunately you again)... Tulsa, OK... Norman, OK

-
Not included in this map (but there is one)... Purple Shade, Extreme Risk.
If you ever fall under such category, expect the worst!
Extremely dangerous winds, very large destructive hail, potent tornadoes (EF3+) leaving widespread big devastation. Life threatening conditions expected!

Please be careful today wherever you live...LISTEN!, LISTEN! AND LOOK FOR INFORMATION regarding the forecast for today! Don't get caught because you might not get well out of it!

________

Thursday April 18

Alright. Been out of the loop this off season following tropical weather patterns and upcoming projections for 2013, but going to say this season won't be as active as last. Going to go with 14-6-2.

Thanks S IL...you're now the 101st..

Morning Max, I'm doing all right. I have two parties to go to today, at 1pm a 60th birthday party for my friends wife, at a restaurant here in Stamford, then at 6pm, a 35th Anniversary party for another friend at there house here in Stamford. At both parties there should be 25-30 people, and a lot of good food! Well, I'll put on a couple of pounds today! I'll check my rain gauge in a little while, I don't think we got too much last night, I'll post it later.

Hi Max, was out most of the day, then when I got back, was glued to the TV with that terrorist thing, Glad they "got them" both. I'm actually happy the second one was caught alive, I hope they can keep him alive, I'd like to get some answers. Weather-wise, it looks like we "dodged" any severe weather here in SW CT. Just waiting for the rain now, not here yet. It reached 75F on my thermometer today. I knew that forecast of only 61F for today was too low. See posts 38&39.

Yeah, I see about the T.Storm threat. The forecast high of 61F seems a little low, think it may make 65-70 as the warm front pushes North, before the actual cold front sweeps thru on Friday night. But we'll see.

Hi Max, what a story, you did absolutely the right thing. It's a shame the lady was a complete "nut job"! It's very dis-heartening. It's also good the security officers understood correctly what happened, and what you did. I think if Stew Leonards knew of this they would give you some sort of store gift certificate!, as a thank you. Well done!!!

Before I get to business, let me tell you what happened when mom and I stopped by Stew Leonard's (aka Stew's) this afternoon...

But before I do so, I just want to tell you that ever since I was a crazy kid (believe me I was), I should do things for the elderly as pro bono.
We have that understood anyway BUT not everyone sees it that way..

So in Stew's I was grabbing some croissants and cookies then I head over to the snacks area to grab a dorito's bag...

There was an old lady (white lady with really white curly hair wearing glasses) grabbing one as I walked over to the shelf, I noticed that she was trying to get something out of her bag (her purse really) and accidentally she drops the dorito's bag.

I get there and hasten to pick it up for her (as a kind thing for me to do for her) BUT, (read the conversation below)

Old Lady: "Excuse me young man...what does it look like you are doing?"
ME: "Uhmm...what?...I just wanted to pick this up for you"
Old Lady: "What, why did you do that" (she seemed upset from that moment on)
ME: "Did I do anything wrong ma'am"?
Old Lady: "Yes, I asked you why you picked up my dorito bag?...I was going to do that... NEVER ASKED FOR HELP!"
ME: (upset for still confused) "Well I thought... "(she interrupts me)
Old Lady: "I don't care what you had in mind... I did'n want to to ask for help from you to start with"
...at that moment people around turn over to look, she raised her voice...
ME: "I'm truly sorry, I'm ahh just...(I was confused, without words)
Old Lady: "You are mocking me in public, Im calling the police!"
ME: (surprised) "Im sorry, please accept my apology"
Old Lady: (carelessly gets her phone out and dials)...at that moment a store guard shows up, since her voice was a little strong...
Guard: "Is there a problem over here?"
ME: "Well, I just wanted to pick up this bag for her" (me holding the dorito bag all throughout)..
Guard: "And?"
ME: She claims that I was mocking her in the public when I just wanted to do a favor for her...how can that be wrong?"
Old Lady: "What he did was insulting officer!, I demand that you take action against him"
(another officer shows up)
Guard 2: "Whats the problem" (Officer 1 tells him)
(The old lady was very angry at the moment)
ME: "I sincerely apologize if i ever did a mistake but I don't see any"
Both guards ask me: "What's your name...? How old are you", where do you live?
I tell them that information
(Lady still wishing for me to be arrested (I guess))
Guard 1 tells me: "Max, you did good, we appreciate customers who help others...you can go, there is nothing wrong you did to anyone"
Old Lady: "What...!!!?, you are letting him go??? What kind of negligent customer service this store has??? (yeah, she said negligent)
Me: "Well, thanks" (I say to the officers...they smile at me)...I leave, people around looking... "Im sorry" (I say to the angry lady..who looks away and does not bother to respond")

Then the officers ask the lady to go to the checkout to pay her stuff and leave...they stay with her... I left 5 mins after we paid everything...
Mom came after I left the scene with some supplies, she asked me what happened with a lady "passing out" back there...she could not believe the story...

__

So yeah... sometimes even being nice to people is not even the right thing...however I do realize that I was in the wrong place at the wrong time doing the wrong thing...(which seemed right)

At a moment of anger I said inside of me "I'll never do a favor to anyone...ever!
But, I can't be like that

No offense to anyone in general though...just a story.

thanks for reading.
