Wow Max..
Taking on that challenge is awsome!!
I admire your willpower..
You always have weather like you said..
But if you are as successful at language as you are at weather then you will be a great success..
You know I've always encouraged you and you always were a positive person and we had a few laughs..
But in all seriousness I wish you the utmost best and I will always call you my friend as indeed you are..
God Bless and Peace my friend.. :)

Good luck with your decision Max, but I hope you never lose your enthusiasm for "Weather" and it's related topics! Both my wife and my daughter are teachers here in Stamford, my wife, an Art Teacher in elementary school, and my daughter an English teacher at Westhill high School here. I find it interesting your dichotomy of interests--meteorology on the one side, and languages on the other. Usually one is focussed on either the sciences or the language arts , not both, BUT, good for you! as you explained.

Just got back about 30 mins. ago from Costco in Norwalk, came back down the Merritt in some pretty good snow. Now just down to flurries. The ground is white, but nothing on the roads. 33F at my house.

I'm still hoping for that "colder solution" for Tuesday's storm. Looks to be generally on the cold side for at least 10 more days. Looking back in time, I remember this area got 9-10" of snow on , I think it was April 6th, 1982 or 1983, so wet can get a good amount of snow,--plus it still is only in mid-march.

I noticed that the temperatures for next Tuesday have been decreasing since last week...
From 40s it went to upper 30s and now it's forecasted to be in mid 30s. Monday night low is 35F, close for big snow... idk...

Im still expecting rain, if any snow falls then should be washed off by the heavy rain, then strong winds following it.

Yeah, you are probably right. Lonnie Quinn , the Met. on Wcbs TV said that Tuesdays storm could start as snow, then change to a wind swept rain ,washing everything away for awhile, but then we could get "back-lash" snows as the low departs, with a possible final accumulation of 1-4". Will be interesting. Also very windy!

It's funny, if you look right now on Intellicast's Interactive Radar, it shows no snow over Stamford, but it is snowing here! Kind of --reverse virga!

did you catch what happened yesterday night, I think it was coming from Westport. Some weird lights into the sky, I thought it was a police thing.

I was in Hope, street when I noted that...

about that time...I first saw it at 8:30-9PM...I counted like 5 of those.
Some searchlights for some reason?
I tried to get a picture but my cam could not catch them...

if it happens again tonight, I'll try to get pics.

Looks like another patch of snow heading for Sw CT. It's colder now, maybe it will stick a little bit better. In Norwalk, you may catch more of it than me in Stamford, the way it is moving, sliding ESE. Also looking forward to your NYC area forecast.

"I took meteorology, but did not challenge me"

Who administered the course?

Hey Max, to think of it this way, you will have a hand in teaching the next generation of people, that is a monumental task and a very important one at that, no matter what subject you are teaching.
