So far this Hurricane season the number of named storms and Hurricanes have been well below average.
The coastal areas of the U.S. have been spared major Hurricane landfalls.
Living in an area that's still rebuilding from a major Hurrcane 4 years ago, trying to reinforce our protection systems, this has been a tremendous blessing.
The Texas coast that was so badly damaged last year seems to be rebounding and rebuilding.
Here's to hoping the second half of the season will be as uneventful as the first half of the season.
Dr. Masters Blog is a tropical weather blog and the technical information shared by Doc Masters and the really good forecasters that post there is invaluable.
Having said this, Disasters happen in alot of places caused by tornados, fires, floods, earthquakes and other reasons besides Hurricanes.
Organizations like Portlight and others need the help of those who can to adress these disasters wherever they happen, from whatever the cause.
Thanks to all the bloggers that keep us informed on the weather and to all the bloggers who have become my friends, whether on the blogs or in person. This is a great forum, and I'm glad to be a part of it.
Keith

The 4th of July is my favorite Holiday. We celebrate the birth of our Great Nation. I'm thankful our Founding Fathers had the wisdom and courage to declare Americas Independance.I'm also thankful for all those brave men and women who have fought and died since then to keep us safe and Free.GOD BLESS AMERICA!
