It's been quite a busy year in the Carolinas; meteorologist Brad Panovich has summarized some of the more memorable weather events from this past year..

Fall Colors in Western NC

Unfortunately a lot of the leaves were knocked off the trees due to high winds the day before, but there was still a lot of color to be found; ANY time is a great time to be in the mountains!

Persimmon Seed Outlook For Winter 2011-2012

Remnants of Lee + Stalled Front

Here's my statewide forecast map for the remnants of Lee/stalled front..* Well I WAS going to include the map as usual, but for some reason WU rejected it due to a "copyright violation"??.. even though I created it myself. Whatever. Anyway, the map basically showed less than an inch east of I-95, 1-3" between I-95 and I-85, 3-5" between I-85 and the foothills, and 5 to 7"+ in the foothills and mountains.
