Active Advisory: Snow/Ice As temperatures fall below freezing on Monday night into Tuesday morning icy stretches are likely on untreated surfaces especially in areas where any further sleet, snow or rain has fallen on Monday. In addition, further rain reaching the extreme southwest on Monday night will lead to an enhanced risk of ice in southwest England. This may extend north and east into parts of Wales on Tuesday and move east to affect some other parts of southern England, readily turning to sleet and snow, giving further localised snow accumulation. Further snow flurries may affect east coasts. However the extent of any wintry precipitation is very uncertain at this stage. The public should be aware of the risk of travel disruption. Please see the yellow warning of snow which gives an idea of the areas considered more at risk. SNOWOutbreaks of sleet or snow may affect parts of southwest England and south Wales during Tuesday. The main risk appears to be in the western portion of the warning area but snow may extend east as far as Wiltshire and Hampshire late on Tuesday. Some 2-5 cm of snow is likely in places with a risk of as much as 5-10 cm, more particularly high ground.
