We had a hailstorm lasting approximately five minutes in McComb, MS this evening. The hail ranged from dime to golf ball and slightly bigger although not to baseball size. We lost two windows in our house, got a leak in the roof and all the screens on the porch were ripped out. Amazingly our cars were not damaged (although there are probably dings that we won't see until daylight). [photos posted on WunderPhotos] Video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GLXUQnbREjM

All parishioners safe in the Hattiesburg tornado yesterday - one who was without power just got it back on. Remarkable that there were no fatalities. We got thunderstorms all day - in fact, have had them for 36 hours now. Three inches of rain since yesterday...and counting. Just got pea-size hail at 10:24 CST as cell passed through.

More stuff keeps streaming out of the Gulf so we'll have it all night. The yard is soaked and there are flood warnings out.

We have had about 10.6 inches of rain in the past 30 days. Yesterday we had 2.2 and the ground was already saturated. I guess we've had at least an inch or more today. Thank heavens we're on high ground because the rivers are above flood stage now. Our yard is basically some grass floating on a pond. The kids are going stir-crazy and frankly I am too.

Just for interest's sake we looked it up and we had about 73 inches of rain last year. Where we used to l...

Pea-sized hail this afternoon at 3:20 as the main line of storms came through. Significant gust front associated with the storms right before the hail. It's clearing out and I can see bits of clear sky to the NW. We were never under anything stronger than a tornado watch. I was sad not to be able to hear the sirens this afternoon after all the anticipation.
