I'm an exclusive NexRad map user and I look at it when leaving the house (local) or planning my day (regional) and I always use the animation. Switching between local and regional with animation directly would save time. By the way, I also have always used the hourly feature for day planning, and the recent new UI for it is a big improvement. Kudos on that.

Fix the survey- it just takes you round and back to this page. At any rate, the maps are too hidden under the menu- they need to be mare accessible. I work on computers all day and can't tell you how many times I've stared at the damn screen here on WU trying to figure out how to get into the maps.

Now get off my yard!

Add me to the list of users with slow DSL. I have stuck with classic wunderground because of this - in part. The other part is that I LIKE the classic better. It is simple, clean, and easy to interpret. All I really care about is storm information, and the rest is clutter for me.

I think nobody reads these things but; the forecast temperature line could be wider and more transparent as it becomes more inaccurate, based upon the previous data.

I don't like having the interactive (choices) below my nexrad map. It has been on the right hand side for as long as I can remember. I signed up on December 6, 2001 - that's nearly 13 years. I've lived through some bad changes during that time, but this is a mess. I have to scroll up and down to be interactive. That's a real pain in the neck. I just want it back on the right hand side. Please.. Or, let that be one of the preferences.

(originally an idea on AOL circa 1993 to attract kids to the science of weather forecasting. Odds are its already being used by some app company BUT just in case it isn't i pass on the idea) There are several more presentation ideas i figured WxU's think tank can figure those & even better ideas, here is one.
Lights blink faster when more than 1 weather event is under the "light" icon.

If this shows up as a repeat comment, apologies was trying out  CHROME and it crashed (my error)
A reminder, left 2 private VIDs at youtube (eMailed in 2013 5 WxU members, Dr. Masters Another WxU "official" meteorologist & 3 long time members as Sar2401 & Grothar) on creating 2 types og umbrellas, and stated that IF created pass on some of the profits to Portlight.

Couldn't agree more. The new site is worthless for serious use, where getting information and data is more important than how beautiful it is. Dr. Masters stated Classic would be maintained and updated alongside the new site. Please do so.

You can add my vote to this also - More Info and Less Fluff. We need the current national forecast to be more accessible as it was in the classic site.

Where did the regional weather maps go? I look at them all the time. I drove about 1,000 miles this weekend, which is not that unusual for me. The weekend drive involved Youngstown to Cleveland to Milwaukee and back. Today I am concerned about a perishable package that needs to be shipped from MN to the South and then up to OH. The timing of the shipment needs to be worked out to minimize the likelihood of any delay. When traveling I need to know what I will be driving into.

Though the forecast page is a big improvement over the previous format, the weather map format is for me a step backwards, for the following reasons: 1) the legend and stuff at the top of the page take away from screen real estate (on Macintosh the older legend was plenty legible); 2) the lower part of the legend is covered by a semitransparent white screen, and items on the bottom part of the legend cannot be selected for display; and 3) the page loads with grinding slowness, sometimes not at all (on DSL).

about half of the time the page does not load all of the way. I think the programmers need to rethink this, I kind of think these are the same people who put the ACA web site together...

I too still use the classic site as its always been the best. What I really miss though is the old style model maps, especially the 4 panel. I'd also like to see more models too. Just please go back to the old style maps.

As a ham radio operator, skywarn net member, and weather spotter, I find the classic Wunderground site to be much more valuable tracking actual events. The newer version/site is too slow and too busy, and too little contrast for my use.

Please keep the classic available for the future for those that send spotter reports to NWS.

Thanks,

WA4MQW

What I want is for the temperature forecasts to be more accurate. I find it funny and pathetic that when the station is reading 102° at 3pm the little "forecast" graph is still predicting 98° at 3pm. Day after day. The system's models never seem to learn.

It would be nice to have a docking area where you could drag and drop something from the pull down menus and have it stay on the screen with the rest of the current data.

I stuck with Classic after the first redesign because the new (now old) design used too much space and presented not enough information at a glance.

I love the latest redesign -- the ten-day-at-a-glance graphical presentation is a work of art, and the current condition presentation is much improved, too. I don't like the flat-design fad in general, but the new WU is strong enough to overcome flat-design's weaknesses.

HOWEVER, the new version does seem to load MUCH more slowly than the old. It's really noticeable both on older, underpowered machines and on limited-bandwidth networks. (For me, it's the overcrowded and underprovisioned "public" network at my workplace.)

I hope you'll retain somebody with web-optimization skills to get the performance back up to snuff. The new design is worth the effort.

Well, I got to the first question and stopped because I have no clue how this survey defines "Weather Maps."

Add: And what do you mean, Shaun Tanner, by "throughout the internet"?

I too was/am found of the old maps because they were simple, dependable and easy to use. I am giving the new interactive Wundermap a try but I am frequently annoyed by the many bugs. Two things of most annoyance is the radar image disappearing from the map sometimes within a minute instead of refreshing and sometimes it takes a complete reload of the entire page before I can get it to display again. Second, I have tried many times to save my preferences but they never completely save. Maybe as a temporary or permanent solution, add a refresh button or make the current a refresh button. Please, please fix those bugs.

I can't type in a specific city to find the weather and have to go through the list of cities alphabetically which I didn't want to do. I used to be able to do this. I did use your map and found my city that way

The only thing that I can't find on weather underground is the water vapor image. It could be more convenient to get to the aviation weather section for winds aloft and such.
