I tried both "take the survey" links, and both gave me a new page to sign up with Survey Monkey. I like SM, have used it myself, but what I really want to do is help Shaun with HIS survey, not start my own.

Wunderground is a great place to get local and regional and special information. It quickly became my standard, go to WX site.

Why? hard to explain, am an old Navy meteorologist and like the detail, yet not overwhelming. Easy to navigate around. I also like astronomy, and so enjoy those highlights.

Wundermap was disconcerting at first, then realized it reminded me of a Google map with weather painted over the top, allowing me to EXACTLY see where systems and precip and such were headed.

Appreciate the blog. As a newbie/amateur/hobbie webmaster, I am impressed with how clean it all runs! All I need now is a link widget to here from my own site. Got Link?

If at all possible please do not turn off the Classic. I know a number of users who only use the Classic. Hope they will voice their opinion. Would be willing to pay extra to retain the Classic.

I hardly ever click on the New Wundermap, as I don't like either. I liked the old one much better! When I accidently click on a link for the New Wundermap, and it starts downloading I quickly x it off.

Glad the survey is open. Sure hope the 'powers that be' read it AND react accordingly.
The idea of abandoning the "Classic" WunderMap is ridiculous! One of the better functions of Wunderground, and they want to get rid of it?? The new Wundermap is a nightmare to configure, extremely slow, and doesn't even look as good as Classic does.
As a Ham, I monitor my PWS as well as the Classic radar 24/7, to be able to advise mobiles, etc on conditions. Always there, easy to set up, and with placing a marker at one's location, it's easy to see what is approaching.
My suggestion would be to keep classic, MAYBE upgrade it ,(but don't know what would make it better)and dump the "NEW" monster Wundermap.
As always, this only one persons opinion, but open to comments.

Great T-Shirt by the way! Not some cheesy $5 T-Shirt. Classy and useful, just like Wunderground! The questions on the new designs they are looking at will really excite this group. May not translate to the normal public so it is up to all of us to tell them about the maps. The new additions they are considering will ACTUALLY be very useful to the public wanting to know about how fast the rain storm is coming. Well thought out modifications to the already great design.

If you are considering adding to the APP you have can you add "FRONTS" to the map on the iPhone app?

Having used the "OLD" map for several years the new one took some getting used to. I like the tropical storm tracking but the damn map loads slooooooooow.

I tried clicking on the survey link on the next page, but it just got me back to this page.

Sorry. I was willing to take the survey.

TWO comments... I agree with Bobi1947.. the category "survey" showed clearly in the request to take the survey. THE LINK TO THE SURVEY was NOT so clear. It needs to be a different color.. a different type, and maybe the words should indicate that it IS a hot link.

2nd comment. clicking on "quote" gets me to the comment field. THAT's not intuitively obvious..

Here we go again... "Southeast, Karen..." I don't need that bar telling me what I can find out by looking deeper into it. IF I WANT THE INFORMATION! Don't you people have anything better to do? Or are you on some kind of quota system that encourages you to fill up the page with redundant information? Do you get a raise or something? Try to remember that I'm paying for this... Truly dumb people don't bother with this, they watch Weather Channel Hysteria.(cut to Times Square- hey Mr.Cantorre, where's all the frigging snow? HA HA HA !

Just completed the survey - hope it helps. Living here in SE Florida, your weather forecasts are crucial to us, especially during hurricane season.

Keep up the great work!!!

You're a lifesaver here in our area.

Finding the survey is indeed confusing. The link that brings you to the survey is not obvious. I had to click around to find it.

I would like wunderMap to make it so they stop kicking my weather station off the map when they think my temperature is to high. The weather people never have the right temperature anyway. you can all ways count on it being higher like 4-7 Degrees hotter than they say or on the forecast. I want my weather station up for my personal use. for when I am away from home so I can see it on my galaxy 4 phone or some one else. it is not fair for you guys to keep taking it down within the system. just because you think the temperature is to high. some one there said it messes up your forecasting then do not use it for your forecasting. all I want is my station so I can see it when I am not home. To see my temperature not yours. Do not put the data into your forecasting into your weather station or anyone else just put it into my weather station. if people there thinks it messes up the forecasting in the area. just give me a weather forecast based on my temperatures in to my personal weather station not anybody else. for ex if you said it is going to be 91 degrees then make mine 96 degrees in to my weather statin only no one else if you think it mess up there forecast. I believe it to be 4-5 Degrees to low in your forecasting anyway. all I want it is for my use only on the map and for my friends to see. Someone there told me there's a way to make it so it dose not get kicked off and it will stay on no mater what happens to the temperature. I do see other weather stations with very high temperatures some times like 1 or 2 maybe even 6-10 weather stations at a time with much higher temperatures than the weather service. I do know the weather service is to low many times on the temperature. But as far as the other personal weather stations they are not getting kicked off the map like I am. Now why is that if they can be on that wundermap then let me be on that wundermap and stop kicking me off within the system fix it so it stays on.

I never liked the new format, it was boring and slow. I like the classic much better. As for Wundermap, I use it sparingly and usually for local. Not enough to have an opinion. If there is severe weather I go to the city's live streaming site.

I concur with #5 too.

Click on the hyperlinks titled "this brief survey" or "this short survey" within the post itself.

However you have to be a user & on facebook, i was a user before it showed 'sign in with facebook'

I do not get it, how come everything is facebook? What about those who do not have it or people banned them?

?

That's strange, I managed to take the survey and I don't have FB.

I too have tried to use the new site. The favorites are in a bad spot and the page is more clustered. The old format is much more simple and is easier to navigate. If forced to use the new site I would most likely not. I think the site owner will hear the cries and keep the classic up a running.:-)

Hope this doesn't mean the "classic.wunderground" is going away. If so, will be finding a new site. I tend to avoid sites that give more than basic information. Agree with #5. Tried the new improved a few years ago, and it was way too busy, and didn't fit on my screen. Classic was "just right". There's more on the web, I'll just find them. And the survey, all I got was age and had I heard about the Wundermap. Not worth taking, IMO.

Sorry to see the classic wundermap go away. I really tried to use the "new" wunderground site, but it is too busy, and slow to load. The old site is a lot faster.

I used to use my smart phone to access Palm Springs weather stations. They were listed under "92262 Weather Stations". But now (for about the last week) you've changed the smart phone page and they are no longer there. Once you scroll past "Sports" there is nothing there. Please fix this

I would like to agree with #5 above, but I'm not completely opposed to New and Improved once in a while either. And I So Truly Appreciate still having 'Classic' Weather Underground being available. Not sure why, but the New...hurts my eyes and gives me a headache. Seriously! (Sorry, but true!)

Regarding WunderMap - keep it simple and basic with needed info.
Being an old fogey, I don't like lots of changes. Just want good and important info as simple as possible.
Thanks

Did you click on the "survey" button next to Categories? That's not the actual link, the real survey is highlighted in blue in the actual blog post in Shaun's words "this short survey" or "this brief survey". Click on one of those phrases in his blog and it will hyperlink you to the survey.
