Feb 9, 2013. Betsey (Daughter) loaded up some pictures of their snow on Facebook and this time I was able to post them here without any problems. From the depth of their snow they probably did get close to 30" they got more in Wellesley Hills, MA about 20 mins outside of Boston, than the city received. Today is Scott's 36th Birthday and the first thing he had to do was get out the snow blower because they could not open their doors to let the dogs out! I loaded 3 photos in this header.
Jan 27, 2013: Finally my 3 photos from yesterday did not do the "error" thing like they did this morning so I was able to load them here.
Also need a new blog thread but will continue to keep my latest paintings in the header.
Wish you all could have been there yesterday:

Here are my weather Maps. This one had to be removed from my above the blog spot; it was causing my computer problems.

I found out, these maps are measuring fire hazard and soil moisture, not necessary drought according to rainfall.

When I want to post a photo on my WU blog, I post it to some other site first, such as Facebook, and then copy & paste the image location into the photo code so that I bypass the approval process. The picture won't go into my photo gallery, of course, but they will appear on my blog with out any fuss. Just remember to remove the "S" (for secure) in the https://www.facebook.com...etc.
Take care :-)
Yes, Betsey and the boys will be able to get out ok Tuesday when they are scheduled to leave Boston International. Actually I think the airport is opening tonight at 11pm.
will be back later. thanks!!!
Santa
Yes, they got a lot of snow last weekend in the Boston area! For sure.
Thanks for all your comments/posts!!!!
Been running errands and staying busy lately. Betsey and the boys made it in safely last night only 45 mins late.
Scott's Dad picked them up and took them to Scott's parent's house. A lot of Scott's cousins are coming in today and they have plans with Scott's family today and tonight so they are staying up there ..
Tomorrow afternoon I will pick up the Betsey & the boys and bring them down here for Valentine's Day..
We are making the kids a "Valentine's Day Party"..
little kids love any excuse for a party!
Then Fri afternoon, we will take them back up to Scott's parents to do more with his family.
Then Sunday we will pick them up and bring them back down here for Sunday afternoon, night (pool party BBQ) and we will take them back to airport Monday afternoon.
Busy few days a head...
I am still working on the last of my "Everglades" series of paintings. After I finally finish this one I will take a break on this type of painting and move on to another type.... more "tropical beach" themed paintings which I will really love painting.
I need to "switch it up" often to keep it interesting.
I personally love the more colorful "beach" type of paintings...Caribbean theme...
But first I must finish the one I've been working on for over a week now... actually I've had a lot of interruptions so I have not been able to "paint" all this time.
Hope all is well in your world, I will check back in when I can!!!
Our biggest fear now is another big storm whether snow or rain.
Next week will prove to be interesting as things get active. No place to put anymore snow and heavy rain would cause enormous flooding.
Stay tuned
Those are great pics from wellesley hills, pretty much what all cities look like.
Hope you have a lovely few days, it certainly sounds as though you and your family have lots organised to keep you busy!
Catch you next week when things settle down again:-)
How have you all been? I hope you don't mind, Gamma, I'm crashing your blog. I just figured I'd say hi, where I knew everyone would see it.
Well, it's almost midnight here and my hubby is getting this hairbrained idea that since he has a long weekend, we should take a short vacation to Pensecola, or somewhere. I'm not really for it...but who knows what'll happen. LOL
Have a great weekend everyone! Happy Belated New Year, and hope to "see" you all soon.
Blessings~
Try and find time to have a relaxing cup of coffee! (but no Saturday donuts!!)
Looks like Betsey received about the same amount of snow from last week's blizzard as we did. Thankfully, blustery winds are helping to evaporate much of it (at least, 30 miles further north our way) and hope that her drive/walkways are all dug out to where normalcy has resumed again. Thankfully, Baron and many other school kids have this week off for winter vacation time. Hope he has a great time playing in the remaining snow.
Looks like your industrious efforts at painting should pay off nicely real soon. They're all such lovely inviting creations! Can't wait till those of us up North can again feel warmth, see greenery or similar forms of tropical splendor on a more permanent basis. To think, spring becomes official in about a month! In the meantime, continue to enjoy your artistic pursuits, HAPPY PRESIDENTS DAY and be well!
A lot has gone on around here in the past few days.
NEw, Sandi, GG, Ylee, Mass, Brook, Thank you all for your posts and comments. So glad to hear from you and Mama Brook so good to hear from you again and good luck in your new home!
Yes, been a busy past few days. But Betsey and boys when home Monday afternoon.
and a week ago we ordered my new SUV and it came in Monday so got it this week. I love it.
I am back in a Ford Explorer XLT which is the one I drove for years. I had 4 Explorers in a row before I had to get that EDGE 2 yrs ago, which is the smaller more compact "cross over" type SUV.
So happy we got out of our lease 10 months early and thanks to being friends with one of the head managers we always get a great deal.
Driving that Edge for 2 yrs makes me really appreciate my Explorer and how much more room it has.
Again it is silver but we did not really have a choice in the color to get the deal. It is 2013 model and has the 3rd row of seats in the back which do come in handy from time to time with my large tribe.
I have not painted in a week now and must get back and finish that painting I started about 3 weeks ago.
This will be the last of my "Everglades" series or group.
Next I will start painting more "tropical" type of scenes that I love painting.
I do have 10 paintings now in my "collection" and had good photos taken of them and now having the photos printed so I can start a portfolio.
I've also been contacted about using one of my Everglades photos in a local activity on a T shift.
It is for the City of Coral Spring's annual "City Birthday Celebration" and they have a contest for local artist who use their painting to put on a T shift that will reflect the beauty of our environment. Since my Everglades paintings are what they are looking for I was asked if I mind entering. There is no money but a lot of exposure which can never hurt.
And Christian gets to finish his apprenticeship in a location which will bring him back down here in April which we are all excited about. So probably in April he will move back and hopefully May or June they will move into an apartment of their own once again and I will have my house back by summer!
He was told it would probably be 6-9 months before any spots opened up down here in SE Fla and that was right on target. His entire program is about 2 yrs but will be so worth it when it is all done.
We had a really cold spell all last weekend and Sunday our day time high was only around 60 degrees but finally warming up today with temps back in upper 70's.
Hope all is well in your world and I love coming here to check the weather quickly and read the comments and posts you left me. Maybe someday I will get to get out to your blogs more often.
Have a great week!
You have a great week too!
