April 10, 2011: I am BACK with internet connection at home. I missed you all so much!!! Thank you so much!
and I loaded up some garden photos..

April 2, 2011: Just in case you don't see me for a few
days after I leave work around 7pm... I do not have internet at home.. some type of connection problem.. it could be my modem and if that is the case I will not get it in the mail for several days, it could be wiring.. but one thing we know for sure it is going to drive me crazy.

So without my computer I will not be around for the next 4-5 days... Just wanted to let you all know in case you starting wondering what happened!

Mar 31, 2011: I decided I best open up a new blog for April while I have the chance. My internet connection at home has not been that reliable lately; I think I need a new modem from AT&T. I will ask them when I call them to fix my problem once again. Anyway... I cannot believe tomorrow will be April 1st. This year is just flying by and Oh My Goodness, it will be hurricane season again before you realize it! YIKES!!!
-------------------------------------

It is that time again, time to get ready for the Annual March of Dimes, March for Babies. The Ft Lauderdale, FL event will be Saturday, April 30, 2011.
So to those that have donated in the past, Thank you so much!
I know money is so tight for many of us so I do appreciate any and all who can help with this great cause.
I also realize many of you donate to your local walkers for this event and it is all appreciated.

-----------------------------------

These weatherstickers say Sunrise, FL because technically my zip code is for Sunrise and not Lauderhill but I live just within the city limits of Lauderhill. There is confusion sometimes.

-------------------------------------

And our Fire Index/Drought Maps are updating once again.

I am sure I will have new pictures in here soon.

When I picked up Rylee from School, she had to go swimming when we got home..and it was about 88 degrees.. so of course, Noly had to get in the water..he played on the steps most of the time... I did not put on a swim suit but I was sitting on steps of pool area..I just knew any minute Noly was going to fall in head first... and I would have to go in clothes and all after him! but
I managed to stay mostly dry... Rylee swims like a fish but I still have to be out there when she is swimming, we never allow any kids to swim in the pool without an adult watching.
It is nice for kids to swim everyday when they can, great exercise for them. And every week our normal pool temp keeps getting warmer and warmer, now it is in the mid 80's so that is starting to feel really good, even to me!

Tomorrow morning I have an appointment, then pick the kids up in afternoon.. then must get ready for my work week coming up...
bummer...

At least I was so "caught up" before I got sick that I will not be behind when I go back in the office on Thursday.

Thanks to you all for stopping by.

Oh tonight I went down to my neighbor and checked on our backyard garden...his tomatoes are not doing any better than mine.. we are now just too hot at night to grow tomatoes...

but I did get some green onions and a few radishes for our salads tonight.

His lettuce tasted just as bitter as mine does... Karen, Skye, Aqua those of you that have followed me growing lettuce this is a common thread down here in our soil... I have put "ash" in the soil and "blood meal" and put them in fridge produce bin....our soil just does not grow anything but bitter lettuce no matter the type.. 3 years now trying lettuce with more failures than success ...Mother Nature may be telling me something.. I can grow it nicely it just does not taste good.

Oh well.....Got to take the good with the bad...

Nolan and I had an "Adventure Tuesday".. he got here about 8:30am and we went to breakfast at IHOP...then on to Flamingo Gardens way down in Davie, Florida..about 18 miles south of me.
Remember I bought the year pass and on your second visit you paid for your yearly pass.

At IHOP, the waitress who remember those 3 yrs Rylee and I ate breakfast there (along with a few other breakfast places) They are all amazed that now I am bringing Rylee's little brother, Nolan, with me on these breakfast outtings... and amazed at how big he is and what a good eater he is! He crams food in his mouth with both hands! Rylee ate like a bird, Noly eats like a lumberjack! And he is not overweight at all for his height, just "sturdy" LOL

Then I took him on his second visit to Flamingo Gardens and he enjoyed it even better this time.

He still cannot handle more than 1 1/2 - 2 hrs.. last time was little over one hour, today little less than 2 hrs.. but he is much younger than Rylee was when she started going...

and the Peacocks were in full mating season.. they were strutting and chasing those PeaHens all over the place! it was funny watching!!!

I have a bunch of beautiful photos of some of the flowers and plants in the gardens I hope to get some here soon.

Hello my friends,

Sorry I never got here this morning, been a busy day.

Grilling, what a nice photo of your praying Mantis!

Shore, thanks for stopping by.. yes today was "back to normal" but it was so busy! Yes I am happy to see Roz on FB now, sometimes when I am not with a computer I can see some of her comments on FB on my Blackberry.

Sandi, I understand, but do try to "check in" when you can because you all know how we worry about each other... I had to have people come here to my blog when I could not come for days at a time!
I need to do my "roots" once again, I hate doing it but it does give us a "bounce" in our step once it is done!
Take care and I hope to get to your blog soon.

Hi Todd!

Aqua, your "grandbabies" are doing great.. I still have some more seeds I did not get into the ground yet that I may have to save for this fall... I cannot wait to see how the loofa does! and the pepper is doing great, just waiting on that first bloom and fruit!

NEw, I got some beautiful photos today at Flamingo Gardens of flowers and such.. cannot wait to have time to get them all cropped and posted here... WE have a lot of "hard" pruning going on to get rid of the winter cold damage and now it is the time to do that pruning.. and in some cases, removing of the dead plants, but as soon as all this gets done and everything is tidy once again and the summer rains comes.. it will be even more beautiful.

Vet, I know how good those blooms smell! just from the pictures I can smell them!

Mass ,thank you so much!!! you are the graphis Queen of WU!!!!

Afternoon, Gamma,

Like everyone else, I hope you're back to what passes for normal! I saw your post over at Roz' facebook page. I've not gone FB, but she has a public page so I can see it, too, without signing up.

My aunt from KC is here for one more day, and then leaves on Thursday. We're having dinner at home tonight, and then going out tomorrow evening. Mom's going to go through withdrawal once she doesn't have company any longer! I'll have to hang a little closer while we get back into our routine.

Off to do paper work and dinner - just wanted to swing by and say "hi"!

~Hi Gams ~
Hope you are back to 100%...
I am going to be really busy for a couple of weeks, so may not be around as much as normal.... but I will still find time to check in once a day, so you all know I am OK:))

One more day to recover before work :)

Oh, I am at the hairdressers tomorrow - a cut and colour, so I shall feel better once that is done - it is amazing how good you feel after being "re-coloured-younger"!!!! lol

WELCOME BACK GAMMA!

Sorry you and most of yours caught that nasty stomach bug for a few days from poor little Nolan! Hope you're all feeling much better and more rested for the hectic weeks ahead! It might be a good idea to include yourself in Nolan's naptime snooze for awhile to keep your strength up.

Has you internet company finally permanently fixed the connection problem you were having with your computer? Periodically, they can be so exasperating with their lack of proper service to customers.

Good morning and Wabit, Swamp, Jeff & Vet,
thank you for stopping by!

When Ellen dropped off Nolan this morning it is official...
that cutie pie infected his Mama, Daddy, Gamma, Poppy, Nanny, Papa, and Uncle with the stomach virus last week.
All of us had the same illness after watching him. The only person in his immediate family that did not get sick was his sister Rylee!

Go figure; they just "carry" the virus and not get as sick as the adults did!

So another beautiful warm sunny day here. I am sure Rylee will want to swim in the pool when I pick her up from School this afternoon.

Today is the 1st week of Ellen new 6 week schedule where she has to work Mon - Fri. They provide the school with swim lessons every spring and fall and since that is part of her job she has to change her schedule for 4-6 weeks twice a year.

So for next 6 weeks I will have Nolan Mon, Tue all day and Wed afternoon and Rylee all 3 days in afternoon...

At least Hubby is around on Monday's to help out so I am not by myself with them the entire day!

Those grand kids can wear you out!

Enjoy your day I will check back in later.

Late to the party, but..Welcome back, Gamma!

I've been in the kitchen all weekend making lollipops for a party. It's a huge crawfish block party this coming Saturday, and I wanted to do something unique. So I made homemade lollipops, shaped like: crabs, corn, alligators, and, of course, crawfish. I've done berry, candy corn, sour green apple, and cajun flavor.

I'm afraid the flavor is a little light in alot of them, since I had to guess on how much flavoring to use..but it's really about the look for this one.

Shh..it's a secret..don't tell anyone. I want it to be a surprise. Um...no one else out there is going to a big crawfish party this Saturday..right?

I just did not have the appropriate space.

I use to have a gardenia plant in the front but it was in the shade and mold...and for awhile I had a collection of roses on my east side garden but they just did not get enough sunlight... one of these days I will have both of those plants again.

Pros, I love your bleeding hearts!

Thanks, Gams! We'll keep 'em coming!

Sorry to hear of the Gardenia's demise. They can be very fickle. We've tried them in many spots in our yard. We have about a 50% success rate, but the ones that have survived are really nice!

Beth, Sandi, Shore, Vet, & Number,

Thank you so much!

You know I now realize, I would be really bad off if all the sudden all my WU friends were cut off from me!

in the past when I go away for a few days or week or so, it is usually someplace that has a computer and I can log on just to check in..

but this time I was totally disconnected and hated it!

I could bring it up on my blackberry after a long time waiting for the connection but it was so hard to read even after I increased font many times...and almost impossible to post.

It is amazing how many "friends" the internet has brought together that we would have never met without our computer and WU!

Sandi, I saw your post on FB!!!

I had Ogal and Vet and a few others on FB come back here and leave posts for me!

{{{Gamma}}}; I've had a busy weekend and hardly time to get on the computer, but I'm so glad I checked in to see your good news! I hope the stomach bug is history now and the Internet connection problems, as well!

There was a really bad bug going around here this winter, too. My oldest daughter, the teacher, said that it was running through the schools like wildfire! She had heard that it was Pontiac Fever, which is like Legionnaire's Disease, but without the respiratory complications. Of course, with all the kids in the family, we all (except lucky Lorne!) got it! Wow, was that a miserable bug! Just awful! I wonder if that's what you had, too? But, anyways, I'm SO HAPPY to hear that you're feeling better and back on the air!

Hi Everyone!!!!

I have internet now!!! This ATT guy was the BEST! he found my problem immediately and fixed it
and gave me advice on what to do in the future. He also told me I was buying internet speed
I was not getting because I lived too far away from the "base".. I must call them and have it redone during normal business hours.

I did not even need a new modem but since I have it may as well keep it.

I just read all your comments and have tears in my eyes.. You are all the BEST!!!
and thanks to my WU friends who are also on FB and brought back my messages.

It was rough only having a Blackberry for 10 days to communicate with.
I wanted to go to work this week so bad just so I would have computer connections but was so sick.

It is really hard for me to try and work WU on my BB, FB is just easier and I cannot do that well.

and I have over 400 messages on my YAHOO personal email.. most of it junk but still got to clear it out!

Actually last weekend, Ellen Chris and the kids were sick with stomach virus. Kids not as bad as adults.

I had kids Tue & Wed and other grandparents had kids Thur & Fri...
and all of Rylee and Nolan's grandparents (us) got very sick from this stomach virus!
We got sick from the grandkids!

I was in ER on Friday and Doc told me it hits adults much worse than children but children are the ones spreading the virus!
I got IV, fluids and meds to calm down stomach.

Hubby was sick but not out of "both ends" like I was!

So Happy Happy Happy to be back.
I have missed you all so much!!!

Thank you all for your kind words and encouragement and just being the BEST!

Gamma,

So sorry to hear you're ill. Skye's right - when they send you home, it's time to give it a rest. And yourself, too! I hope you're feeling better today. Rest easy!

gamma- no one likes to work with zombies. It's no fun, their parts fall off, and they try to eat you in the break room.

So get better soon. ♥

Hi Guys, this is from Gam's on facebook. She went to work today and they told her she looked like the walking dead and sent her home. Her hubby is sick too but he has been going to work anyway. She is still without internet at home. Drop in this blog and tell her hello :)

Good Morning Gamma!

Sorry to hear that both you and your hubby have taken ill! Hope today, Sunday, brings you both much relief and a quick recovery! Seems many people are having difficulty transitioning into spring after a draining winter season. Hope, too, that your internet problems will finally be addressed and resolved in the very near future! We all miss you around here!

Take care and best wishes!

GAMS, so glad that they sent you back home. You need to fully recover before you start doing any work, otherwise you will have a relapse. Take care fried.

Good morning, Friends. Gamma tried to go to work today, but they told her to go home because she's still pretty sick. She can't update her blog here yet, still no computer.

She sends her thanks for all the good wishes and she'll be back here as soon as she can.
