Feb 24, 2009:
I will just keep this blog entry until March First. Then I will update a new thread. Still same projects and same family stuff and same running goals going on here so, since the blog is not getting a lot of posts (and that is OK) no need to open a new thread yet. Thank you to all of my friends here who continue to post when you can. I do love to read your comments and look at your graphics!
Happy February!

Feb. 15, 2009:

The last blog was up to 250 posts and it lasted thru Valentine's Day evening. Thank you all that posted there for your comments, graphics and fun.

As stated in prev blog, February is a busy month. I am trying to get my running/walking/exercises on track. We are doing a Master Bath remodel. And Betsey and Baron will be in town 3 weeks (Scott will be here that 3rd week). So life is hectic but good. I am trying to journal a lot of this stuff in this blog so the entries that are mostly "journal" and boring to all of you, please ignore! LOL

My running journal.
first week of Feb was Post 3 in prev blog.
second week of Feb was Post 118 in prev blog.
"Before" pics of the bath while it is gutted is in prev blog. And Valentine Day Pictuers of Baron are in prev blog.

Now we start new!

I will add the beautiful Heart graphic BarnDweller made for me at the top, above the Drought Map and Rain Dancing Baby

Hey, GAms! I see WU is finally back up and running. I tried off and on yesterday. Like Rays, I finally gave up and shut the computer down.

We got some rain last night. Much needed, too.

Morning Gamms -- getting ready to jump out and run long -- going to wrap the Ipod up in plastic-- just in case the rain comes through....It feels really exciting out there with the weather moving in.

Probably still have work this Afternoon, I think this will pass before the game at 1:00 and to doesn't look like near enough rain to have the field to soggy.

If I'm lucky this will bring some waves -- no work Monday -- so I have a shot at it -- just hope it doesn't get too cold.

Enjoyed you work post --- I read it and thought I'm not alone --

Good night Patti! Have a great Sunday. I was hoping to get to run to Atlantic City tomorrow (our one day off) with some fellow students but sounds like the weather will be too bad. Takes about an hour to get there. Just to LOOK at the casinos, you understand. Actually I don't like gambling but I like watching people lose lots of money in a few seconds. LOL

HI everyone, I'm Home.. My workweek is over!
and I have a nice glass of red Spanish wine. Rioja!!! I deserve it! LOL

Scott, glad you posted. Sounds like you had an exciting week and your wife and kids back home could build a fort with all that snow! WOW. Maybe where you are it will not be as bad; I sure hope not for your sake. And I know we all hope this is the last of the Artic Cold fronts to come thru for this winter; it is just crazy this year.

Congratulations on being a Combat Medic; I would think that would be a good skill to have over there. Take care and keep in touch!

now going back to Shore's post to see what that link is about! LOL

Hi Patti!

Kick back after your crazy day and have a few!

Well, another day of training. Finished the medical part today. I am now a qualified combat medic. Next week we are on the firing range and practice convoys.

The bad part is we are expecting up to 9 inches of snow by Monday morning and temps in the teens with high winds here in New Jersey. I hate being on firing ranges under those conditions. You don't think of anything but finishing and getting inside. Don't really get to enjoy the firing. At my home in Nebraska they had over 1 foot of snow with temps tonight down to -2 degrees not including the wind.

I just checked the conditions of the "mid south" area where I grew up.. in and around NE Arkansas, Memphis, TN and where my dad is now in Water Valley, MS (about 1 1/2 hrs south of Memphis)

and all their stations are reporting snow or snow fog or sleet already and under a winter storm watch until tomorrow.

This is the same system that is suppose to move to the east and northeast .. I think..

Hi everyone,

What a pleasant surprise to see all your posts!
Shore, thanks for the puzzel, but of course, I am taking you and the others' word for it because at work I cannot see what you posted! LOL
I will take alook at it tomorrow from home (or maybe tonight if hubby lets me on the computer) and check it out for me and the grandkids.
thank you for stopping by.

Ogal, Isn't this getting really old; I have been here 29 years almost 30 and never have we had so many cold fronts come thru in a single winter. I promise I don't do much of anything to help out my orchids but put them in a breath-able pot (with coconut fiber only for the pot) and hang them either on the fence or in the tree.. I cannot tell you when I last fertilized them but I am so lucky they bloom several times a year. Well the last cold spell knocked all the buds off the one that was getting ready to bloom last month. And my tomatoes, at least two of them, are looking really good and healthy.. I will get pictures soon.

And I if I were at home just doing chores this afternoon, I would have already poured me a glass of red wine! only 2:30pm or not! LOL

Karen, thank you.. yes, I will try to get some pics up tomorrow or Monday.. it is not finished nor decorated but the tile looks so good and I love the vanity cabinet..maybe I can get some pics tonight and post them tomorrow..

Brooke, yes, my weekend begins around 7:30pm tonight! Congratulations on your new puppy.

Pros, thank you; yes, bad start but things sort of calmed down a bit a few hours later; this afternoon been back to a "normal" Saturday afternoon! I will survive the day after all!

Mobal!!!! ROFLMAO!!! So the "little green men" did come and get you.. or OH NOOOOO you are sending them for me???? YIKES!!!

Shores - what a cute puzzle idea! I'll have to look into that...but I know I've seen that somewhere before.

Gams - glad your bathroom redo is going well. Hubby just cleaned out the sink in the extra bathroom (the one I generally use to get ready in) - too much hair - UGH - makes the water go down too slowly.

It is suppose to warm up here and it was earlier - but there is a tinge of marine layer in the sky keeping it chilly in the shade.

Pictures of the bathroom please!!!!

Gams, I love the puzzle look of your pictures that Shore did. What a fun thing to do. Maybe even create a huge one for your wall.

Glad to hear the bathroom project is coming to an end. You are so brave. It is a big job. Ya never know until you get started. Congrats on doing it.

Well once again the cold is approaching us. I have moved some plants today. Looks like my sheets come out once again. My orchids which are no where as big as yours. I am so jealous of your big Cattleyas (sp) I have tomatoes ready for pots and my Camellias that I was going to plant this weekend. Not now!

Hope you have a terrific Sat night. I am ready for a glass of wine and it is only 2:30.

Hi, Gamma,

You may have seen this site already, but it's such fun. When you have the kids around on a rainy day (or get bored at work) you can play around with it.

More than puzzles are available, but here's the site.

And here's what you can do, easy as pie. You can make the pieces any size you want:

!!!!!!!PRIMAL SCREAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been at work over an hour already this morning and it is already a crazy place and making me nuts!!!!
We had too many key workers call in "sick" today.. it is suppose to be a beautiful day here in SE Florida so I fear a lot of folks want to play outside instead of being at work. And this really throws off our schedules and who can run the machines. And we are way behind on our production volumes to reach our goals, etc etc etc.. and of course, those here we asked if any of them would work thru lunch and they said "NO"! lol

NUTS I tell you Nuts! LOL
going to be a long long day I fear!
But I will keep a smile on my face and move forward! :D

Hope your Saturday is going much better than mine is starting out.

GG, Good to see you stop by! Oh yes, it was nice to have the "throne" back in place at least! LOL... when we redo the master bedroom we will pull up the carpet and put down hardwood floors..well actually, those floors that are fake wood but look like real hardwood. It is hard to have real wood in tropical Florida; they swell and buckle up from the humidity and we do get them wet a lot coming inside from pool and such things. Real Hardwood Floors are not really recommended here unless you have lots of time and money for their upkeep.
anyway, we will have a professional do it; hubby and I do not do these types of construction jobs. We would end up spending more money correcting our mistakes than just paying a pro upfront to do it right the first time! LOL

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

Woo-hoo you got the most important part of the re-model back in!
Aren't you glad you hired someone to do the tiling. It is soooo worth having someone else do that.
Hardwood floors are another thing to contract out. then make sure everything in your house is covered before they start sanding and perhaps leave the house for three weeks while the varnish dries.
Have a good one!

Good evening,

I know I never come here after I get home from work on work nights but I did another first; I went out after work tonight and ran 3 miles with hubby. He does this every night but I am always "too tired" but tonight I did it.
I walked this morning 2 miles then ran tonight 3 miles.. YIPEE....

Pros, that sounds like fun. If it is a class where you enjoy visiting your friends You Go Girl! I would like to do something like that someday.. I want to really get into my artwork once I retire from my current career.

Blu, it is not easy...but now we can see some results it is getting exciting. Tonight was the first night we were really excited to come home and see it. And the toilet is installed again so we can use it now!!
We have to redo our kitchen also but it will NOT be this year for sure and even if we wait until 2010 I am already dreading that. At least we have learned some lessons with this smaller project. and we still have the other bathroom that needs work but that will go last. LOL

There is the most beautiful Cresent moon out there tonight with a brilliant Venus just to it's right in the western sky when I got home and was walking Harley. It was beautiful; Hope some of you got to see it.

Good night, will check in tomorrow morning.

Hi Gams, thank you for your visits to my blog and for the good wishes.
What have you planned for the weekend, any interesting outings? I start my Sat. art class tomorrow and usually but not always I have fun in this class. The fun is from visiting with the classmates and not from painting. In fact I let others paint while I 'visit'. I have taken classes with this teacher for so long that the activities are now repetitious, but at least I get out of the house for a few hours.
Enjoy your evening and the weekend.

I had to run home during lunch break to check on Harley and while I was there, I got to see the tile with the grout and it looks so good. he got it all done. And our shower fixtures are installed in the shower area now.

and the contracter/carpender picked up our vanity from Lowes and set it in place.. not "fixed" in place yet but could see it and it is so beautiful!! It is Cherry wood but stained a very dark brown..I love it and he really liked our selection also.
He going to see if the Granite store can come out and get their template this afternoon or tomorrow.. if not will have to wait until Monday and they may take a week to cut the granite but he said they usually do it faster than that. Sure hope so.

He may re-install the toilet this afternoon and that would be GREAT! Those long "middle of the night" treks across the length of the house to get to the other bathroom are getting old! LOL

I think I am starting to see light at the end of the tunnel.. perhaps it will be working by end of next week and all that will be left is my decorating!!! but not getting my hopes up too much yet. lol

Lunch Break!

KEH, thanks!

skye, I know isn't that terrible. I thought I heard something about a firebug lose. The next tomato plants I will buy for those hanging upside down pots will be cherry tomatoes; they will do ok even in summer time and so tasty!
I may try the Epsom salt.

Ogal, I love Camellia but we are way too warm to grow them down here. Betsey had one in Tallahassee. I think there is one they developed that can take our year round warmth and heat & humidity but it is not readily available to public yet. Good luck and let me know how it goes.

Brooke, enjoy the birdfair.

Sngalla, I know the weather is great outside today and suppose to be tomorrow also.. I just came in from lunch break and it was painful to come back inside on such a pretty day.

EEEkk~ drought map.. The firebug south of me in Palm Bay tried to set a few yesterday. With well less than firestorm conditions, appears to be chomping at the bit to get Palm Bay burning again. Not a good sign..

D-fly picked & ate his 1st cherry tomatos last night. The big ones have been in for about 10 days & all shapes & sizes are ripening. After watching him & littlen, I planted double the tomatos I'd usually plant.

Good to see about your lettuce. I put a tablespoon of Epsom salts around each of mine last week & they went off. Turned the red ones viberant too.

Morning Gams, as I just told Nicky I am off to buy a Camellia bush this morning. I have always loved them and have never had one. I had a hibiscus tree die so I have the perfect place to put it.

Hope your work day goes quickly and you and hubby have a great weekend. So glad you and Surfie hooked up on running.

I understand busy and thank you for stopping by. I do hope it will be worth it all when finished and I promise I will put up some pictures!

Guess what, I come home and the tile has all been done YIPEE!!!! Hope tomorrow he can do all the grouting.. not sure if he can do it all in one day; we have two different colors of tile and grout.. but finally all the tile is on the walls and floor, in the corners and niches..the tile is done!...

I would love to see him grout tomorrow and be gone with the tile guy!!! I know it was time consuming and had some tricky cuts and he did all the lines very good; everything matches up...but it took so long.. it is a small bathroom! LOL

Tonight is garbage and recycle, hubby and I have a deal; whoever gets home from work first on Thursday takes out garbage and recycle! of course, after we walk Harley.. he is first priority!

And double hitter tonight on tv, American Idol results for the 2nd group.. I watch it if nothing else is on.. I don't "make a point" of watching that show.. but Survivor I do! and they are both on from 8-9pm.. so guess which one I will be watching.

have a great evening and will check in tomorrow.

Good Evening {{Gamma}}!

Sorry I haven't stopped by in a few days,it's been a crazy mess here.
Little R broke his right shoulder blade at school Monday so mom has been having to do everything for him. You know how that goes.
Now Wobbie and him are both battling the flu.

Can't wait to see the bathroom when it's done.

Have a good evening! :-)

and I see we now have 5 "fushia" color counties in South Florida on the Drought map..

We really need some rain before we start having lots of wild fires.

Oh, update on Master Bath redo.

Tileguy is still in there, 2 weeks now.. and during my lunch break I finally got in the last few pieces I had to order of the bullnose topper tiles he needs.. I picked them up at tile store and took them home for the tiler... I see he is "redoing" 1/2 of one wall in the shower..glad, it was not laid that even.. glad the contracter saw it and said something so I didn't have to.

I tell you, I don't even want you to think we are doing something really fancy or lots of fancy trim or details..we are not.. this is just bathroom tile job..

and our special order vanity is finally in from Lowe's ready to be picked up.. 6 weeks is all it took to get it in from original order time. (I'm being sarcastic here of course, was only suppose to have taken about 3 weeks) Contacter is suppose to pick it up today.. but he cannot install it until tileguy is finished tiling and grouting and the grouting hasn't started yet.. oh boy.. I keep telling myself.. "it will all be worth it, it will all be worth it, it will all be worth it". LOL

So when it is grouted he can install the vanity then granit people can come to the "template" to use to cut the granit and that will take about a week to get back...and some electrical work needs done because some of the outlets need to be moved...they are in the way of the large mirrors I bought..

"it will be worth it, it will be worth it, it will be worth it. ...." LOL

Back to work now, lunch break over.

Good morning all,

Another beautiful day in the Land of Enchantment. Currently 51 and looking to get into the mid to up 70's before the end of the day.

Trees are starting to bud and strange things are emerging from the ground, looks like spring is come to New Mexico.

I hope this finds everyone in great spirits...just thing two more sleeps and the weekend will be here...wooo hooo

Cheers

Good morning my friends,

Gator! thanks for stopping by. and yes, I have as much fun as the grandkids doing these things! LOL

Scott, that is soon. WOW, I think that will be be here before you know it. You do get to have a short "vacation break" to spend with your family before you leave don't you? Sure hope your deployment isn't too long.

Good morning, it's Thursday and that means I am very busy at work today. Just wanted to pop in a minute to say Hello and leave a post.

You all have a wonderful day.

Good evening Patti!

Boy, I can sure relate to the comments about families being far apart. Both of my children were born in Europe so none of my family saw them as babies. Since we moved often we never had babysitters either. One day I will stay in one spot.....

Got a fly date today. I leave on March 17th, which is sooner than I had wanted. That means only about a week between returning from this training and deploying. Alot to do and not much time. But that's life, right?

Finished the driving maneuvers today and begin the medical training tomorrow. At least we will be inside. The last 2 days outside were very cold and windy. Must be New Jersey!

Hi Sngalla and Ken, Thanks to you both for stopping by.

Been a busy day. Rylee and I took Betsey and Baron to Butterfly world. Baron loved it; he walked around by himself for 2 hours all over the place. The most he has ever walked and butterflies were landing on Rylee..

Betsey took her good camera and got some great shots but she is with Scott's parents now and then going out of town, I won't get a copy of her pictures until Monday. I got a few but her pics were just the best.

We brought a "picnic" lunch to have at the parks a busy day indeed.

Now waiting for Ellen to come pick up Rylee and Dunkin then I will need to start getting things ready for my work week to begin early in the morning.

So everyone enjoy your evening and I will check in at some point tomorrow.!
