Oh yes, Betsey updated Baron's website again. He is doing something new every day now that he is 5 mos old. He actually took a nap in his own crib yesterday! and he plays in his playsaucer even thought he is so tiny his feet won't reach the bottom... She put a box under his feet so he has a "base" he is so cute!

Airman, Gatorx, Ken, thank you for stopping by yesterday.

sorry I never made it back... Rylee and I went to the water park for an hour or so but she was not feeling well.

So we came home earlier and took naps, etc. She is never sick; almost 3 years old and you can count the number of times she has been sick on one hand. Very lucky for all of us. But she went to nursery school at 8am this morning and I picked her up at 9am. She has a little fever and just doesn't feel great so no need for her to be in school when I am home.

Today for Adventuer Tuesday I think we are going to a local water park. I never knew it was there until last weekend. Rylee's other grandparents have taken her there before and she loves it. So She is excited about going this morning.

Right now she is eating breakfast..l.

Good morning my friends! It's Tuesday.

over past 24 hrs I had 1/2" in my rain guage. Just poured it out to see what today brings.

I got up at 6:30am this morning so I could get in my walk/run before Rylee got here and while at the park, They had to come get me; I was needed earlier than usual this morning! LOL Oh well, I did get in 3 miles (W 2 R 1) was going to run the next lap but couldn't.

Sometimes these things happen! That is why it is so hard for me to get in my walk/run on Tuesday because I never know what time my little girl will arrive anytime between 7:30am - 9:30 am..it varies.

You do get to have a small portion of good lean protein every night for dinner.

I will check back later. Enjoy your evening.

I still hear thunder out there....

Hi karen,
haven't been to any blog yet today been so busy. Will check it out. yes, we were on phone with Bets tonight going over table setting and she wants me to have the "gift bags" done for those staying at the hotel before she gets here so that will be one thing we can do in advance.

bills, we got maybe total of less than 1/2" from last night and this afternoon... I think it was more west also..lots of thunder but not much rain.

I did get in 8 miles today. walked 5, ran 2 and did the Nordic Track Ellipse for 1 mile.. I was whipped after that! LOL

Then ran some errans. Now tired and going to watch a little TV and rest before bed.

Did great today on the diet; stayed on it strickly. we will see. from 130 this time last week to 125 for past 2 days ... hope it continues. I will stay on it 4 more days then day 10 is a "maintance" day... then I may just maintance a while and take it easy before tackeling that last 5 pounds. I really do not do diets well at all.. I miss my Classic Coke, I miss pasta! and eating salads... believe it or not lettuce is not on my diet!

oh well, if it really works and I really lose 10 pounds in 10 days will let you know. It advertises 20 pounds in 10 days but no one could believe that one! LOL I never even entertained the thought that was possible! LOL

Gamma - sounds like you have a busy summer too! And the wedding - it's coming up quicker than you think! You never did get the dress picture posted, did you? The one you bought? I'd love to see it if you ever get a chance. Hubby is planning on taking 2 weeks off when we take our camping trip. One week for the camping (but we're only going 5 days - M-F, but then taking the following week off for surfing and relaxing).

*the above is a copy and paste from my blog -

But - I bet you enjoyed that meal! You must go back and read about my eventful weekend - it's in my blog. Hope you continue to get the rain you need!

Thanks Bug! I did see Art's pictures but not Damon's yet. will look for them today. So happy all of you had a get together. I'm surprised more from other parts of the country don't do something similary. But it is hard to find a date everyone is available.
Monday's are usually busy, Hubby is off on Monday also so he always has his "business/shop" errans to get done and he uses my vehicle instead of his car so I am usually "carless" on Monday.

We will probably pick up Rylee at noon if Ellen needs us to.

Right now it is only 75degrees and hubby and I may leave now and get in our walk/runs. He has his yearly physical at 10am (I had my back in March).

got to get back on the strick diet today for the next 4 days and see what happens!

be back later.

Happy Monday everyone!!!

We did have a good time. I stole those two photos from BigT! All I had was one of those basic disposables, not a digital. I figured between BigT and Damon, the digitals would be covered. Just wanted a couple or so for myself.

We're on our third afternoon/evening of rain. It didn't rain on the picnic. And didn't even start here at the house until around 6 this evening. But it's almost 9 and we've still got a light, steady rain going. I had a half inch in the gauge around 7:30. Have no idea what's out there now. We've had one or two quickie power fluctuations. One just a few minutes ago. Didn't flip the computer or the micro but I'm sure my alarm in the bedroom is flashing. It flips if you look at it hard.

Hope your Monday is a good one. Do something fun!

alley, Thanks, I did good and made sure I didn't over do it! and I blew my diet today...but I get back on track tomorrow moring!
]

bills, I think you on the East side got the rain today... I only have 1/4" in my rain gauge right now and I thought I would have had more with all of the lightening and thunder we've had all afternoon.

Hubby and I went out to J Alexander's (in Plantation) for dinner tonight and it rained the entire time but I guess not much at our house!

yes, I went ahead and enjoyed a nice shrimp dinner with a salad and a little rice and I even went ahead and had a glass of Merlot! LOL

today my diet is just to not go "Hog wild" and tomorow I go back on the regimented schedule for the next 4 more days.

I hope I can keep the 4-5 lbs I've lost off and lose another 4-5 lbs this coming up week. then will take a week off then get back on it for another 4 days and see what happens. Plus One would think the way I work out and most of the time I eat really healthy, one would think I would maintain or lose weight....but no.... I guess it is the "age" thing! LOL

going to bed soon.

It looks like the South Carolina get together today was great. BT/Art and Bug have some pictures up and I am sure when Damon gets home he will have pictures up. This is great when those of us that can get together to meet each other. All of the folks I've met from here have been such wonderful people!

Good night everyone, be back tomorrow!

Good afternoon Gamma!

I think I've got that drought map figured out. Areas out west (Weston etc...) would probably be blue based on their rainfall, where SNG & I live is probably yellow. Blue plus yellow makes green! lol

I hear thunder all around, no rain though. Where Oakland lives might be getting it, she's about 2 miles away from me, but nothing here.

Take it easy!

Gamma - you better watch yourself!..I am so proud of you for watching your diet and exercising but don't overdo it - especially in the heat and humidity!

BTW, I have grandchild #5 on the way - My daughter Melanie and SIL Mark are expecting their 3rd child around February 11th..they have two girls, Courtney (8) and Sarah (3)..maybe this one will be a boy!..lol..I have 3 granddaughters and 1 grandson..One granddaugter is moving to CT (Victoria - 4) and my grandson is in the process of moving back to Mobile (age 6)..My grandson is our preemie and I have posted about him before..one of these days I will post a birth and age 1 picture - one would never have guessed that he was soo small!..lol..

I did it, I walked another 5 miles to get in 8 total for the day (walk 7 run 1) !

but these last 5 miles after this morning's scare.. were done around my own block so if I passed out I was close to home ..

and I was able every few miles to stop in at my house and get my towel wet in ice water again and put back over my head.... The only way I was able to do it in this heat and humidity was to have a hand towel, dripping in ice water on my head the entire time and drinking several bottles of water.

Even with that I dropped over a pound doing that last 5 miles and I was water soaked. I know it was a drop in weight from sweat.

I am drinking 2 cans of tomato juice to get my minerals back up and I did take all my vitamins this morning.

Now I can read the paper and rest a bit!

got storm clouds all around me and hear distant thunder so I doubt we get any pool time in this afternoon.

Morning, Gamma ~

Be careful in that heat! I have to watch myself these days, and I try and make it a practice to drink a lot of water before I even head out the door. One thing I've found that I really like is Powerade Option - it's like Gatorade, but a bottle has only 40 calories instead of the 200 in the Gatorade. That's a bit more reasonable.

I took the time to really look at your pics this a.m. and they are just wonderful. The kids are so cute, and the water is beautiful. We get so used to what passes for water around here it's easy to forget how truly, truly beautiful Florida and Carribean waters are.
I won't be doing any traveling this summer, I guess, but it would be wonderful to do a bit in the fall. Dream on, she says!

We got wonderful rain last night - although some around us got too much wind and hail, and at least one tornado touched down. If we can pick up a bit more today it will be good - the whole week is going to be hot and dry. I did hear the words "tropical moisture" for next weekend - need to find out what THAT'S about!

Have a great day and enjoy whatever you're up to!

It is hot and humid already this morning. I over slept so didn't go to Church (well I could have gone to the later services but they are so crowded I enjoy the 8:30am service more)...

I did 3 miles but got very faint at the park after I ran a mile and decided not to push it and walked home... I don't know if it is the heat and humidity or my diet and the fact I had only had grapefruit juice and water in me before I went. never fear, I have eaten a little and will try to walk a few more miles later. But I did get in 3 (one of them running mile).

Diet is still on track. Today is day 5 and I don't have to stick to the very very strick regiment given on days 1 - 4...but I cannot go hog wild either, still some rules but today I can feed my body a little better then days 6-9 again on the strick menus and day 10 back on maintance.

Since I can eat a little today hubby and I may go out to dinner tonight I can have a steak and potatoe with a salad tonight if I want; but still no soda or wine or sugar, etc LOL

Bug, Sngalla, AllyB, thanks for stopping by!

This morning I pourede 1 1/4" from my rain guage at my house from prev 24 hours...so if we count the inches in the past 5 days it amounts to several inches. I noticed on my walk this morning our canals and lakes are very full again and that is great.

sngalla, you must be in the exact spot where the rain is not falling but our county is now green!~ I know Weston where I work has gotten double the amount of rain I've received at my house.

bug, Yes, Ry and I try to do something on Tuesday. Sometimes I get pics sometime I don't. We went to beach 4 weeks ago also but my camera wasn't cooperating! LOL And we got some big electrical storms last night around these parts. You all have a great time at the SC WUBA picnic today!

AllyB, thanks.. yes those grandkids are getting way too big too fast. And Ty, is so innocent looking with those big brown eyes! His parents say He better be glad he is so cute or he would be in trouble all of the time! LOL And Baron is still little but he is doing everything other 4 mos old babies do so mobility wise he is not that far behind and he is trying to catch up in size. I think by a year he will be on his way. And I love all my Grandsons, just don't get to spend as much time with them as I wuold like but Rylee is Gamma's girl! We are buddies and have a grand time together! LOL

and Cole is so handsome and looks very mature for being only 5..I hope that enjoys his karate classes!
The water at your beaches is so beautiful!..I just love looking at the water!..Miss Rylee is getting prettier every day and is an asset to any beach!

You and me both, Gams! That thing yesterday? It crossed my mind that it was just like sitting through rainbands from a tropical storm! I was watching my flowers go horizonal!

Today's rain lasted a long time but it wasn't nearly as bad as yesterday. Of course, I wasn't home for most of it. Was in Summerville, which is about a 25-30 minute drive from home. It did rain at the house but there wasn't but about a quarter of an inch in my gauges today. Yesterday, it was just a smidgen under 3 inches. Maybe today's soaked in better, though, having been primed yesterday. I pulled up a weed about an hour after I was able to get out of the truck yesterday and dry, dusty dirt came up with it. Didn't sink it at all.

Hope your work day goes by fast, Gams!

I gotta get off the computer and get busy... Got lots to do and places to be and if I don't get moving, I'm not gonna get any of it done.

I'd rather stay and play on the blogs.

Oh, well.

Good morning everyone, It's SATURDAY!!!!!

YIPEE!!!! my last work day this week!!!

Looks like the same old same old for weather today. over past 24 I dumped out 1/4" of rain from my guage... so we are getting a little bit everyday at my house.

and we still only have 1 Red county and 4 orange counties so Florida is looking better and better on the map.. just wish we could get one foot of water in Lake O... no more just one foot!

hi everyone,

bills, when I was doing some blog hopping earlier I thought I picked up that some bloggers are getting all stired up again. Geeze, I usually just avoid it! LOL

Karen, thanks for stopping by.. I went to your blog and you have it down away.. Congratulations on your 18 pounds.. I started a real real real diet 3 days ago and going to stay on it for 10 days (I hope)..will update everyone if it is successful,

Sandi, have fun tomorrow!!! and I will probably be arounda little Sunday afternoon.

Emmy, that is great, glad you are going to your Godchild's Baptism. Sounds like you have a lot of "social" engagements going on out in Texas!

Hello Gamma
Well its the wonderful weekend - and although I have shows - I get to run into San Antonio this Sunday for my goddaughters baptism.
I can't wait!

Today was really busy - this morning I helped my SMom and I had lunch with the deputy assistant director for the City of Houston
he really wants to help out my theatre as he thinks it truly represents ALL citizens WOOHOO
so that was a lovely surprise!

Have a wonderful weekend -

Hi Gamma,

Well, I'm officially done with work this year - well almost. I picked up a summer school job. But it's not long or hard....only 2 days a week (I chose T/Th) for a couple of hours a day (I chose 8:15-10:15 - and summer school is only 4 weeks) - to have kids come in the computer lab for some intervention strategies (this particular summer school is all special ed kids - but they are all from my campus and I know them all already). The principal for summer school is actually the teacher that I worked with for 14 years - and it's being held at my daughter's school - so I'll be in HER computer lab! First day for me isn't until July 1st.

I got back in the pool today and boy did it feel good. I actually did more than I thought I would be able to do - I guess my Jazzercise class and all my walking have built up my stamina more than I thought! I swam 20 laps (25 yds/lap) then kicked 10, then swam another 20, then kicked another 10, then went to the side and used my water weights for another 20 minutes. I know I'll feel muscles I haven't felt before!

Your diet sounds...will restricting. I just can't do that but I bet it will work. 800 calories a day isn't very much. Just be careful when you come off - but I know you already know that. I still don't think you need to loose a pound...but that's me!

Oh and last but not least, before I unpack all the stuff I brought home today, the pictures of your grandkids and the ocean water are beautiful! Our ocean is so brown looking - mostly because of the wave action and we have very, very fine sand (we've been rated a #1 beach for sand castle making!) The further south you go the more it looks like that - but I sure wish it looked like that here!

Hey everyone, just noticed the drought map and we are greening up a lot here in South Florida.
Then Pandhandle and some spots in NE still need some rain and especially north of Lake O needs rain to put some water in that big lake!

lunch break is over. I ran an erran now it is back to work!
Thanks for posting.

Well Gams, good luck on your diet. No caffine at all would make me one mean momma. The water with lemon is a plus. Sure will be anxious to see how it goes. Just remember water weight may show up......may not.

Love the pics. When is the wedding???

Hi bills, Ken, Gue, thanks to all of you for stopping by yesterday. I never made it back.
Gue, my Grandma never took me to beach either! LOL and yes our water is beautiful and it gets even prettier the farther south you go.

bills and ken, I pour out another 3/4" of rain this morning from my guage from past 24 hours so that is 1 1/2" in last 2 days. On a roll!!!!
