August 28, 2007:

I thought of this idea last week and now going to do it.
Many of you over the past 2 years have taken pictures of you alone, or in pairs or groups, doing the WUBA Ocean Salute. And if you do not like that term, we can call it the WU Salute.

I am going to go and find as many of them as I can. If I do not get yours here, please find it and put it in as a comment. Be sure and list the Ocean you are Saluting (or location). This will be fun, and now with the peak hurricane season upon us, perhaps it will help!
Let's have fun and get those picture comments posted. If you haven't done an "Ocean Salure" picture, go out to you nearby body of water and get on made!

Also; open to other conversation here also; not just Salute Pictures. And, been looking around at blogs I KNOW had salute pictures and they are gone. So, Bob, I know you have several, Damon, you have more out there somewhere also. Rays, I think I got some of yours in your archives. Shera, if you got any to add, please fill them in. Getting a lot of postive feedback here on this subject. And those that do not have an ocean, a pond, lake, river, is just as good. Going to get some from England this weekend! LOL

This could be something that can bring us together again.

August 30, 2007: I can finally let out the secret and great news!!!! Going to be a "Gamma" again for the 4th time next spring. YIPEE!!!!

Sept 1, 2007: This time last year I bought my first pack of cigs in over 6 months.(but I wasn't nicotine free last year just cig free) ..
that was 2006 and this is 2007...
I am now 3 months nicotine and cig free. and one month now off of Chantix. I have no desire to ever be a smoker again... yes, I miss smoking sometimes more than others. and I have put on a few pounds since getting off of the Chantix which is normal...but I will make it this time. Thanks to all of the support I have received on these blogs from all of you my friends.
And to you out there in the same situation, some have been "non smokers" for more time or less time than I have... and some are planning their Stop Date ... Good luck to us all!

Sept 2, 2007: All of the family together along with Scott's parents and grandparents today for pool party BBQ. very casual and fun.
We talked about the new baby arriving next March and the wedding plans for next July, bridesmaids, flowers, etc... and the new baby and the baby's room at their house. Was a lot of fun. Babies and Weddings and family; that is what it is all about my friends.

Son and DIL brought over their newest puppy (our newest grand dog)... Introduce Saber, he is about 8 weeks old, part Lab, part Boxer so will be very much a water dog (already in the pool) and children friendly (their other dogs have been boxers). Such a little cutie. Posting 2 pictures of the newest addition to the family.

first pic got approved quickly 2nd still not approved so doing it manually into the header. Saber is scratching his itchy nose! He had a lot of family members to meet today.. the humans and his doggie cousins.. so much fun.
never mind, 2nd photo approved so deleting the manual one.

Saber (seflagamma)
Our latest Grand dog, Saber. part Boxer Part Lab, Son and DIL's newest family member.

then out of the blue, Ellen, Christian, Rylee and I decided to do something. We wanted to go canoeing somewhere but had to be close by since it was already in afternoon.
We saw there was canoeing at Hugh Taylor Birch state park here in Broward by the beach.

We loaded up the gear and took off (only 8 miles SE of us)

It was hot and fun but as far as canoeing goes tht was the worse water I've ever been in. It wasn't more more than a dirty stinky neighborhood canal. LOL parts were nice but mostly it wasn't.
I'm use to canoeing in a stream or river where it has flowing clean water.
But Rylee was a trooper and that is good; want her to enjoy nature and the outdoors as much as we do. And I did get some pics will load later.

Lucky by the time we got loaded up and returning home the storms started.

Poured rain in this general area but our house only got 1/4" Coral Springs got 2 "... so it was hit and miss storms. as usual.

Oh yes, Sunday was a lot of fun.
Then yesterday, Monday, the guys stayed home and did their work outs, runs, etc.

Us girls, Ellen, Rylee, Betsey and Me we went out for Breakfast then went over the Babies R Us to look at Betsey and Scott's initial register. His parents are buying the entire nursery (remember it is their First! LOL) so that will help a lot.
Of course, I had to buy a few non-gender netural items... Like Baby's First Teddy Bear and Rattle and Onesey! And Ellen and Rylee got baby a soft blanket ... It was a fun girls morning.

Then I took Scott and Betsey to the airport. at 12:30 for their 2pm flight.

Cute puppy pic!

I took a ocean salute photo today. I'll download it in a little bit.

Just now checking the computer - it sounds like the Carolina coast may really need the salute!

Gams, congrats on the newest grand dog your "Boxador". I am glad I don't have to go through another puppy at the moment. Your DIL is young. Lab puppies are horrible. Don't tell her.

Those eyes are something else. What a beauty.
Gams, pay attention as there is a blob off the Georgia coast. May not cause trouble for you way down at the end of Fla, but concern for Carolinas and Georga maybe.

Rays, HI!! I did a belly rub for you on Betsey! LOL Told her was so happy I got to finally break the news to all my WUBA friends.

Everyone has gone now and we have cleaned up the mess. We had 4 dogs, (wish Aspen and Brodie could have been here) 3 Grandchildren and 17 people all family around all afternoon. a riot of just confusion and fun. talking about the new baby coming next March and how me and Scott's Mother are going to have to plan our time carefully next year! Talking about the wedding next July. Watching the grands having fun and all of the dogs and their silly antics.

Betsey is like... this being pregnant isn't too bad so far, everyone wants to do things for you and wait on you and rub your belly and all of the sudden you are very important! Ellen and Pam are like, "wait until that 3rd trimester" LOL

GAMS!!!! A new baby?! Wonderful!

I am woefully behind in what's going on, on the blogs. You and I seem to have dropped a bit off the radar in the last few months. Either busy or tired or sick or whathaveyou and neither of us has been online as much as we used to be.

Hope you all are having a great Labor Day weekend. Are you off today or working?

Good Morning Gamma

WHO DOES WHAT

A man and his wife were having an argument
about who should brew the coffee each morning.
The wife said, "You should do it because you get up first,
and then we don't have to wait as long to get our coffee.
The husband said, "You are in charge of cooking around here and
you should do it, because that is your job, and I can just wait for my
coffee."
Wife replies, "No, you should do it, and besides, it is in the Bible that
the man should do the coffee."
Husband replies, "I can't believe that, show me."
So she fetched the Bible, and opened the New Testament and showed him at
the top of several pages, that it indeed
says .......... "HEBREWS"

Have a relaxing, enjoyable day.
Take care and be safe,

Gary

Damon, funny how the young people these days to not take the advice of the elders, huh? You know better than to go anywhere w/o a camera young man, of course you have been known to............ leave it in the car to fry out in the AZ desert and what else, oh yeah, drop it in the creek! Of course you did have a good excuse as you were saving someone's life at the time.
