Sat. May 2, 2009:
Happy Birthday Skyepony! Be sure and stop by her blog and wish her a great day!

I got some pictures this afternoon of Monarch Butterfly caterpillar and a chrysalis.. loaded into the header at the bottom of yesterdays pictures.

Mon. April 27, 2009:
Does anyone know which blog the pictures from yesterday' "Portlight Destin Doggie Walk" are posted? Rays? Aubie?(he already said he didn't take any but many did) TK?, Code, Sugar? Foxx? AllyB? I know lots of pictures were taken but no one has them posted yet. If you find any please stop by and let us know.
thanks!

Sat. April 25, 2009:
"I did it! " Well, that is what the sticker says that I received when I ran under the 6 mile finish line this morning during the March of Dimes March for Babies event! Yes, you know I did the entire 6 miles.. actually did an extra mile plus because I did not take the shuttle bus from the parking garage over 1/2 mile away to the park. Walked it both times.
This year had even more people than last year. And to see so many out there walking for our babies brings a tear to my eye. Some of those shirts read "In Memory of" for the babies that didn't make it but most these days do make it because of Answered Prayers and March of Dimes and our wonderful Doctors and Nurses and medial staff.
Last year Ellen and Rylee did it with me but I was alone this year and that was ok. I did the 6 miles in 1 hr and 15 mins which was pretty darn good.

At the beach it was nice weather this morning but really a little too windy... but at least not very hot..so no one was passing out from over heating. Actually our beach had "rip tide" warnings up the waves were so bad and wind making rips currents in the water.

I took some pictures of the beach during part of my "walking" miles and will post some here. And I got someone to take a picture of me right after I finished so I would have "proof" I was there. LOL

And I want to say "Thank YOu" to all those who contributed to this event. Seven of you WU friends contributed and one person from work gave and of course my donation. We now have a total of $375 collected. I really appreciate you all.

Thank you BD!

Since this drought is so serious now, bringing back the old drought map I had in the past to show the number of counties what are now fushia. Not good my friends.

Will keep the dancing baby up a while longer!

The bottom pictures are of Monarch Butterflies as caterpillar and chrysalis...On the pic I had on April 13th I said I wasn't sure which it was.. well those are Monarch Caterpillars on that milkweed plant.. and all of my milkweek plants have now been eaten of all leaves..but they grown back again so all is well.

MOD March for Babies

By: seflagamma, 4:20 PM GMT on April 10, 2009

Sunday, April 19, 2009:
Well, this coming Saturday I have scheduled the day off work to walk in the March of Dimes, March for Babies. I have all the information below. This has become a big event all around the country and it is a very important cause. We all want to help prevent Birth Defects and Premature Births. Any help anyone can donate is appreciated but I do understand if you cannot; times are tough and there are so many charities out there needing our help.
It looks like it is going to be a beautiful Sunday in my neck of the woods so will probably be outside enjoying it.
You all have a great day and Thanks to everyone who stops by!

Sat. April 18, 2000:
It's hurricanecrab's Birthday so please stop by Crab's blog and wish him a wonderful and Happy one!!!

Friday, April 17, 2009:
Serious dry conditions in South Florida; especially inland out in the Everglades South of Lake Okeechobee. We need rain down here soon.
2:30pm: small plane went down in Ft Lauderdale area (Oakland Park).. see post #124... our friend bills works and lives in that area nearby... want to see if she checks in the blogs this afternoon..so putting a shout for her in my header.. will also send her mail.
Bills has checked in.. crash was less than a mile from where she works but she is ok.. didn't see it but could hear the copters circling over head.

Tuesday, April 14, 2009:
Well that line of storms is now holding together anad coming thru central Florida.. will it hold and make it down to South Florida?

Monday, April 13, 2009:
All of you know by now that our American Captain Richard Phillips was freed yesterday by our US Navy Seals. What a wonderful Easter Present for that family, the crew and all of America! Way to go US NAVY !!! These pirates are just thugs and criminals, they are not the romantic "Disney Pirates" we dress up like and talk like and have fun with in our world. These are bad people and they must be stopped from taking over ships and hostages.

Sunday, April 12, 2009:
"Christ the Lord is Risen Today, Hallelujah!"

From our Home to Yours Have a Happy and Blessed Easter!

1:00 pm... back home from Greg and Pam's house. We had a really nice Breakfast spread out. Ellen and Christian were there with Rylee. The "cousins" Cole and Rylee and Ty had a great time. We had Easter Egg Hunts, they had sack races and then "got down" to the Chicken Dance and the Bunny Hop music. I loaded up 12 pictures from this morning when they get approved. We are missing Baron, Betsey and Scott.. Betsey called and we should have some Pictues of Baron's Easter later tonight. Wish they lived closer.

Friday, April 10, 2009:
Today is a special day in the life of a Christian, The Day Jesus Died on the Cross for our sins. And will be the day of Joy on Easter Sunday. We are wishing you all a warm and sunny and Blessed Easter Weekend.

Thank you BD!

You all know I also use my blog as a journal so I will keep a record of my walking/running in the first posting spot and sometime I record items that may not be of interest to anyone here! LOL.. heck I post a lot of stuff that is probably not of interest to anyone...but you have the option to just not read it! LOL

March of Dimes, March for Babies, April 25, 2009

Once again I am walking in the March of Dimes, March for Babies. It is one of those charities that is near and dear to my heart.
My son, Greg, was born premature 34 years ago (March 29, 1975). He is that tall young man that left his wife and two boys for about 6-8 weeks last summer/fall to helped out many in Texas after Ike and then went to the NorthEast after that ice storm last November and barely got home on Christmas Eve. Then his son, my grandson, Ty,was born with a collapsed lung in January 2006. And everyone knows about grandson, Baron, who was born very premature in January 2008 weighing in at 2 lbs 7 oz. The March of Dimes organization has been there each time for our family.

I will walk the 10K again on Saturday April 25, 2009.
I know there are many Portlight fund raising charity events going on and I understand if you donate to them. I have also; they are important. And I understand money is tight in times like we are having today. But if you can and would like to donate to help prevent Birth Defects and Premature Babies I will be happy to walk on your behalf for them. And if you want to join me, come on down! Thank you.

Windy and Cooler

By: seflagamma, 12:56 PM GMT on April 01, 2009

Tuesday, April 7, 2009:
WOW, got about 20 degrees cooler this morning than yesterday morning and expecting even colder tomorrow morning before warming trend again. Nice weather for running but a little too cold and windy for me! :o)
I did add some updated pics of the sunflowers and tomatoes below.

Mon. April 6, 2009:
Today is the big day for baseball fans. The opening day game of the season was actually played Sunday (yesterday) but none of our teams played until Today. So Baseball 2009 official swings into action today. I get hubby the Baseball Package from comcast cable on demand every spring for his Father's Day gift.. I think it is expensive but for him it is worth it. He gets to watch his Yankees play every day on the TV in the living room. That leaves the computer and the bedroom TV free for me! Go Florida Marlins, Go St Louis Cardinals, Go New York Yankees. We are a three team baseball family! LOL

Isn't this so cute and quite appropriate for Spring.
Thank you BD!

April 1, 2009: This is no April Fool's Joke, this year is speeding by quickly. Time flys by when you're having fun.
As promised, new month, new blog Thread. Since the state is still in a horrible drough will bring over the drought maps and dancing babies. On the good side, north Florida has gotten plenty of rain recently and their drought is over for now; just need central and southern Florida to get some of that rain now.

I will also be loading up pictures of the garden from time to time especially my updated pictures of the Trashy Tomato (See Skye's blog for details.) If you have not already planted your Trashy Tomato, please think about starting one, it is very interesting and many here have now joined the fun.

You all know I also use my blog as a journal so I will keep a record of my walking/running in the first posting spot and sometime I record items that may not be of interest to anyone here! LOL.. heck I post a lot of stuff that is probably not of interest to anyone...but you have the option to just not read it! LOL

Betsey has been playing with her camera this week using Baron as a model will try to put two of them here.

This was Scott's Rocking Chair when he was a baby; it was refinished by Scott's sister for Baron.
