It was another beautiful day in the Straits area. Sunny, cool and low humidity. The wind kicked up out of the NW around 1:00 PM 20 to 25 knots, waves on the lake 2 to 4 foot with an occasional 5 to 6. The waves can build up around here very fast do to the strong currents and land masses. If you are going out on the lake always check the forecast. I have seen the waves go from 1 foot to 6 foot in less than an hour.

I operate a 56 foot landing from Saint Ignace to Mackinac Island from April through December, and have seen a lot weather out on the lake.

Be safe.
