I'm tired of all the talk. I've heard enough of the science. Here on these blogs I'm tired of the superior attitude. Yep I'm grumpy today. And it's not because I don't believe in AGW. It's not that I don't think it's important or that the results that can happen are being overly hyped. It's just that I'm tired of talk. Eventually you have to go from talk to action and I see very little action and that leads to the QOD:

What are you personally doing to reduce your carbon footprint and reduce the effects of AGW?

I'm trying to grill my steaks and ribs on charcoal more often instead of propane. Its carbon neutral they say.

ricderr,
Always lived with respect for the environment. Even as a child I was taught not to waste water and electricity. Kind of hard for me to pinpoint anything new since AGW became the theme. If they ever ration energy, I'll have some to share. Like, you know, how people used to share their butter and coffee rations during WWII...

Saw your comment over at the BETA Center for Life Improvement. Saw the quote anyway. Plussed the comment quoting you by mistake. Please know I agree with what you posted. Thanks for the response.

Perhaps you could find time to correct the official datasets then, since you seem to think they are wrong, eh?

Enjoy!

No, your interpretation and inferences are incorrect. There is no 1 to 1 CO2 to temperature correlation, instead CO2 is one of many forcings, it only happens to be the dominant one at this moment. Second, using short frames of reference for temperature neither fit the definition of climate 30 years, nor can we expect them to have any statistical significance given the small number of years used in the OLS regression.

It has nothing to do with the data, only your misrepresentation of it. Nice try, I guess.

Edit: Your graph has no scale for CO2 value either. That kind of makes the whole thing not valid in any way. Cheers. :)

I take Gas-X regularly. Not sure if it helps reduce my carbon footprint, but it makes my friends and family happy.

What a !....I think I will ignore.

LOL, ric. Consider it a very short-term form of carbon sequestration.

But a good topic here (providing you can get anybody to stay on topic, lol). Turning the what "we" should be doing to what are "you" doing. Apparently that question is taboo and off topic elsewhere...

I have a feeling that the majority are doing absolutely nothing to reduce their carbon footprint.

I'm in that group...

Climate Model Indications and the Observed Climate

Simulated global temperature in experiments that include human influences (pink line), and model experiments that included only natural factors (blue line). The black line is observed temperature change.

Global climate models clearly show the effect of human-induced changes on global temperatures. The blue band shows how global temperatures would have changed due to natural forces only (without human influence).

The pink band shows model projections of the effects of human and natural forces combined. The black line shows actual observed global average temperatures. The close match between the black line and the pink band indicates that observed warming over the last half-century cannot be explained by natural factors alone, and is instead caused primarily by human factors.

..when yer outta the Blue, and into the Pink, you can come back'

Seems your confusing your feelings with a persona, rather than the Science.

That's why I use the iggy feature on stuff or Avatars that constantly berate the Science.

You know, like monikers who say a ice age is obviously upon us.

Sharing the science behind AGW is not talking down, its talking Science.

i guess it would all depend on how you share it...i'm not disputing the science but how it is sometimes shared.....no different than how some share the weather....i'm not gonna lose sleep over it though

Ridiculous to talk about anyone who flys, as the planes fly scheduled anyways.

Your only showing a fear of information seems,..

Which is kinda crazy when you think about it.

Its warming, and it's continuing as we pump giga tonnes of CO2 into the Biosphere 24/7/365.

I don't drive hardly any more, as I use the Streetcar a lot.

Sharing the science behind AGW is not talking down, its talking Science.

The main things we can do are electricity related. As it accounts for 33% of all emissions of CO2. Link

Transportation accounts for 28%, but aviation is only 2 - 9% (depending on the study) of the total of ALL CO2 emissions.

Use less electricity, install solar panels at home if possible, energy efficient appliances, timers on lights, etc., drive less, walk more, take mass transportation when possible.

Those are things we can do as individuals, but still much of the sources of CO2 emission are out of the individual's control.

happy fools day scott.....

bell...i'm blue right now...

vrl.....i actually do a lot....but i can't say it's for AGW.....many are for cost savings....such as when i had to re-roof last year i added a venting system.....it means we use a third less electricity in the summer to cool our house...but that was for the 100 bucks a month in the summer savings....we went from two garbage cans a week and no recycle bin to an overflowing recycle bin and a garbage can two thirds full....but that was to keep from filling the landfill...i haven't changed a thing specifically for agw

Ric , You are not the only one !

I religiously recycle , walk instead of use a car when it a short distance . Don't travel much ! The main co2 polutatant I use is ofch which is necessary when living in Northern Latitudes .

Kind of annoys me when the people who do the talking down are always talking about travelling and flying planes etc !
