See, I made it. It took me until Friday to post this week, but I'm still posting once a week.

They say you should never talk about politics or religion in polite company, but I know most of you are not polite so we're ok. Anyways we're not going to talk about religion per se, only an artifact of religion. Yesterday I spotted a picture of Jesus. I'm sure most have seen the same if not similar. The one where Jesus is blond haired, blue eyed and has white skin. Yes, the very same Jesus that was Jewish, born of Middle Eastern parents. Who and when did we come up with the idea Jesus was a white boy? I can only relate it to all these years of 2 + 2 = 4 and then someone says no it equals 5 and everyone says fine it must be so. It makes no sense to me. Come on folks, how many times has the news flashed onto scenes from the Middle East and you see someone native to that area looking totally European? It just doesn't happen. Well that is until you talk about the Son of God and now all of the sudden, SHAZAM, instant white boy Now I've also seen black Jesus, same robe and facial features, except for dark skin and a cool afro with halo effects around it. Here's the deal though, has anyone ever seen a picture depicting Jesus as Middle Eastern, in fact that's the QOD.

Have you seen a picture of Jesus depicted as Middle Eastern?

Whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of His head like the pure wool

And His feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace

very good post Ric..I might have to venture here more..it states in the bible a description of Jesus in revelations..Jesus lived in the middle east, I dont know too many caucasians, blue eye people (depicted in living room pictures of Jesus)who originated from the middle east with those features..

I think instead Jesus to be of middle eastern/african descent..

Consider that Jesus Christ was a Galilean (ethnic) Jew. He spoke Aramaic, obeyed the Law of Moses.

He also looked and dressed like other Galilean Jews. This is confirmed most convincingly by the account of Judas Iscariot's betrayal. In that account, Judas needs to identify Jesus to the Romans by giving him a kiss. That this was necessary tells us that Jesus was not distinguishable by physical features or clothing.

This means that Jesus, like other Galilean Jews of the time, had short (not shoulder-length) dark brown or black hair, dark eyes, probably a prominent nose, olive skin, and wore normal, plainly-coloured, or even undyed, clothing. (This meant a linen or wool basic tunic cinched around the waist, a heavier overcoat or "mantle", and wooden or leather sandals). (Paul, who claims to have seen Jesus in vision, and knew many people who had known Jesus personally, also indirectly confirms that Jesus wore his hair short. See Corinthians 11).

Both are more realistic as they are from the Greek/ Turk interpretation rather than Italian and further west
